Sporty Carb Fart

    I have an 01 883 xlc that after running wide open for awhile then coming to a stop and attempting to start again does what according to a friend of mine called a "carb fart" when the throttle is rolled on. It looses power sometimes stalling and makes a pop/sputter before taking off. It has a screamin eagle intake and pipes with a stock cv carb. Thanks!

    Typical of sportys, you need to
    tune the carb, remove the cover over the EPA compliant Idle mix screw

    Get with Kenfuzed and get the CV kit, will fix you up.. Great carb, just need to
    toss the EPA out of it....

    I highly recommend Kens CV kit,I bought a CV with all of Kens goodies in it and it runs like a charm,I did purchase the V Ductor also.

    Look up CV Performance, I am not sure if that kit has a accel pump in it or not. BUt I do recommend Kens stuff whenever possible. If it doesn't, HD or an indy shop will be able to get one.

    Probably like HRK said ...you need to adjust your idle mix screw...accelerator pump diaphragm is pretty much the only thing wears out in the pump...blip the throttle and see if you get a good squirt of gas from the nozzle,if you do diaphragm is OK and idle mix is where to go next...if not CV performance has one on his site... Stage 1 Carb Tuner Kit

    CV performance Basic Stage 1 kit will fix your roll on carb farts with it's needle jet... after you set your pilot circuit

    This explains the procedure pretty good...
