Another Buddy that has a Sig Sauer P238 9mm. Its the small one.
Went yesterday and bought a Springfield XDS 3.3 45 in a case with everything.
He said it was just a little longer than his sig.
The sig weighed 18 or the XDS weights 22 oz.
He was saying the sig felt good, but man the XDS felt even better in his hand. Ordering a leather in the waist holster for it today on the internet.

Good for him, the sigs a pocket 1911 style cocked and locked
    pretty different operating features.

    BTW if it's 9mm it's a P938, the P238 is 380...

I'm waiting on the Glock 42 to come out in 9mm
have to check out the 42 to see if it pocket fits.

Probably end up with the P938 anyway... I already own it...

Yer wanting to carry a 380 with you could carry a 9 or a 45 XDs that is about the same size.

    I have the P938, it's 9mm

you said he had a P238 that model is 380 but you also said 9mm
which means if he did have a pocket sig in 9mm it was a p938

He has the 9mm model in his Sig.
He said he likes the XDs 45 a lot better.

He don't like a 380, nor does his OL.
The dude that is a sheriff that they got their CHL license from said. If your wife can shoot a 9mm. DO NOT get her a 380.
He got his OL a Bersa Thunder 9mm
She is very good with it and accurate and really likes it.

I sold my XDS 45 for a Sig Ultra Compact 45. Works much better not to say his does not but the one I had, had way to many issues. I really love my Sig Ultra Compact which is very close in size to the XDS 45 or 9mm. Except mine carries 7+1 with out the extended mag. Barrel length of my Sig is the same as the XDS.

    Don't like Sig Pistols.
    Like polymer pistols.

Not a real fan or 1911 style pistols

Everybody I know complains about the safety on the sig.
They don't want that style safety either.
Goes on real easy when you are not expecting it to.
And is harder to get off safety.
Scared they might be in a situation and the safety get them killed.

Yea and it shoots very well. A lot more manageable than the XDS 45 was that I had. I still have the XDS in 9mm which I like very much and to me is better suited for that gun. CB, order a set of the Talon grips for it when you get it. The grips will really help take out some of the bite to the hand when you take it out to shoot it. They also need around 2-300 rounds through them to properly break them in.

Got 2 Springfields. Talked with Springfield several times on the phone..

Also have several buddy's that sent their XDs back. And they was told to shoot at least 300 rounds threw them to break them in.

Ain't necessarily wanting to carry it for accuracy. If I get in a shootout.
It will probably be within 25'
Want something Lightweight. Easy to carry
Don't care if it gets scratched up and all. Just want it to shoot.
And that carries a bullet that will put a large hole in something.
And if hit. It will take you down.
    And a 45 don't kick as bad as a 40.

Got another buddy that has a Jet ski, ATV, motorcycle shop.
He has the XDs in a 9mm. He wouldn't send it in because he can't find anything he likes as much and he likes how it carries.
After another one of my buddies went yesterday and got the XDs 45 in a case.
    He's going after one now.
If I just didn't spend a lot of money on my wife a expensive starter Yellow lab.
I would go buy another pistol.

Sig safety doesn't move that easy on the carry models,
my P938 has a ball detent on each side (ambi safety) and it takes
some force to disengage it, as it's a carry firearm not a
bling bling in the case gun..

I've never had the safety on my c3 or 938 disengage unless
    I wanted it disengaged...

Con 1 carry isn't for everyone...

Poly guns are fine, nothing wrong with Springfield other than being a ferrin gun made in Croatia by Commie Russians....

That's OK CB, I wouldn't trade my Sig 45 Ultra Compact for any Springfield. Springfield is an OK firearm.

"to each his own" got a XDm 3.8 in 45 cal, carry it concealed, locked, cocked, and ready to go. I have put quite a few rounds through and have no problems with it . Would like to get a 1911 pistol, but probably wouldn't carry it.

Like my Sig P250 Sub Compact in .45. Very concealable. No safety (DAO). Grab and sqweeze, bang!

I think the XDM is one of Springfields better quality pistols and shoots very good groups.

I found this comparison by one guy on a gun forum:

Hi., Just shot my new (to me) Ultra Compact .45 with my Kimber Ultra Carry II and XDS .45
All the guns are very accurate, and I get great groups with all three. Ironically, the XDS is the gun I like least. Has jamming issues unless I use a death grip.
Truth is the Springfield XDS. 45 is not really in the same class. It costs less than $600 and doesn't exude high quality.
It doesn't feel/look cheap, just not top drawer.
Still, it is the smallest and lightest of the triplets forCC use. But it only holds five and one. Not so good. Kicks a bit more, too.
The Kimber and Sig are like twins. Feel the same. I give a slight edge to the Sig Sauer Ultra Compact, which seems to fit my hand better and have better balance. Surprisingly, I think it has the edge in fit and finish, too. I'm still adjusting to the trigger, but it seems the most abrupt of the trio.
Right now, I consider the Sig a keeper. I think I'm throwing the Springfield back in the pond. Kimber stays - for now.
