I want to put new vance and hines slip ons on my 08 road king classic, also change the airfilter, somebody told me this gets diffucult because you have to remap the air fuel mixture..( power commander), is this something i can do or does the dealer have to do it, is it just plug and play or does it get technical... or can i just put the slip ons on w/o doing anything. im really just looking to change the sound of the bike right now its too quiet ..

if you just change the mufflers you wont have to do anything with the puter. if you change both the mufflers and intake you will have to have the dealer do your puter. but, if you also install an aftermarket puter..(my recomendation).. along with the mufflers and intake, your bike will run like it should have from the factory. as for the best puter, i am not sure, but get one that you can tune yourself. im am sure you will get some input to this, or do a search of this site....there is a plethra of info here!!!!! good luck and have fun!!!!!!:)

They are expensive but if you plan on making several changes along the way check into the Thunder Max with Auto tune by Zippers, I heard pros and cons about it but might be worth checking into.
