I have an 08 FLHX so not sure how different the suspension is on the new 2011. Mine started out rough but after some mileage it smoothed out. The street glides typically have a rougher ride than the other glides due to their lowered suspension and reduced travel. Have you tried to adjust the air pressure in the shocks? I also saw a big improvement when I drained out the forks and replaced with shock therapy suspension fluid.

Unfortunately the best shocks for the rear are quite expensive.. Progressive.

I have a 2008 FLHX also, and the original lowered shocks are a bad joke. I tried playing around with the air pressure with limited success. Having a passenger on back felt the best, so that told me they were built too short with not enough travel to begin with.

I replaced the o.e.'s (10 1/2") with a used set of 13" air shocks from a standard Electra Glide. Way better ride now and no need for expensive Progressives. Front end is still too stiff though. Will have to look into that Shock Therapy.

By the way, after 2008, the FLH frame was beefed-up, and a buddy who has one says it is even stiffer than mine. H-D needs to ditch these twin shocks in favor of a single shock like what is on a Victory.
