Yep, I'll be there. I usually just hang in Virginia City, but a friend of mine is working a booth in Reno, so I'll even go there. She's a well-off, single, attractive 40-something - just FYI! But it is true.......

SK & I tried to link up last year, but we missed the meet. Still a fun time, and the biggest rally ya'll ever find me at!

I might head up there this year, not sure yet. I've done Bikefest the past few years on that same weekend but I understand its now been moved to the following week. Hmmm, Vegas or Reno, which sounds better? Maybe I'll just have to decide the same way I make all my important decisions... who has a coin? :p

I'll be there for sure. I'm staying in Virginia City at the Sugarloaf Motel (baby blue motel on the right up 4th St) as usual.

Redrider..I was studying at the 4th St Ward School and didn't have cell coverage up there. Won't have to study this year as I've graduated..so I'll make sure we hook up this time around. I don't spend much time in Reno (about 15 minutes last year), usually on Friday..so should be around VC all day Saturday for sure. I have the room above Don's place (owner) on the right for Thur-Sat night. Look for a private message for my cell phone number.

Well Ken, the answer to your delema is go to both! That gives you four days to see Nevada, Utah, Arizona and back into Nevada. I did it Sept 2001 and was on the second day of my ride on the way to Vegas on Sept 11. Woke up in Yosemite to the news of the Trade Center Bombing. Made for a somber ride to the first Bikefest but without any airplanes in the sky it was quite peaceful. After Bikefest was over I went to the Grand Canyon, Mt Zion National Park and the Extraterrestial Highway enroute to Street Vibes. It was the first long trip that my brother-in-law went on and now he is hooked to the point that he logs 15 to 20K a year.

I might just do that, depends on my work schedule this year.

Interesting you should mention that 2001 Bikefest. That was a harsh beginning for that event and I had my doubts that it would live to see another year due to the low turn out. It was really somber there and it was eerie how quiet the place was. I'll forever remember riding into Las Vegas and seeing all the hotel lights go dark in memory of those we lost. Every year I make it back to Vegas for this event, if for nothing more than just to reflect on those events and how life manages to move on.

Of course the other motive for going has been that the event has fallen on my birthday as well... but this year they messed that up so maybe Reno will need to be my birthday destination this year.
