image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg haven't done a ton of riding just yet. High point thus far is going to Laconia bike week for a day a test riding a couple bikes.

When you live up north, the first couple weeks after winter is spent repairing your winter damaged yard and house.

Then grandboys were up this last 2 weeks and gave them each plenty of round about town rides. They love the motorcycle. And just spending the 2 weeks doing what they enjoy..water park, the beach, ice cream cones, 4 wheeling.

Also have been local back road riding with junior a 1/2 dozen times. No more then 45 minutes each time so he can get use to the bike. He gets better each time. We talk about each ride what he did well and what he needs to work on.

Got all the necessities out of the way and have a 3 day weekend coming up July 17-18-19. Don't know where we're going but we are going some where. I'm not leaving it up to my wife, she'll just send us some over crowded location like Maine. Maine is real nice just really over crowded and over priced in the summer....we'll see.

Hope everyone is enjoying there summer. Bottom line is....its not snowing!!!

I hear you on the lack of riding. Stripped and stained both front and side step, still have a 12x28 rear deck calling for stain, already stripped. Driveway is sealed again for another year or two, flowers looking nice. Bike is getting neglected by lawn needing moved and such things. August heat should slow growing grass, hopefully more riding soon.

In CT we have a ton of secondary road options for riding. My favorite ride is out to Jamestown Island to the Beavertail Lighthouse (RI). In fact, if you are in the area, you are welcome to join us on August 15th.

My grandkids are too little yet, but it would be fun later on if we could ride together!!

I'm still "interested" in the side-car option, but not really zealously in the market.

Summer here has been hotter than usual - could Algore be right? NAH! It's actually been too hot to ride the ol' shovel on some days with heat indexes around 110. Don't like brutalizing the ol' sled or body. Plants are withering and yard is brown. Farmers not happy . . .

I still have 4 weeks off before school starts back up. Sounds like you guys are having a good summer so far. Ride safe and enjoy!

Thats my only bone of contention with living in tne south. While the winters suck up here the summers are brutal down there. And the rain showrrs..when i dropped my grandson off the first weekend in July i had to pull over 3 times because it was raining so hard i couldn't see. It doesn't last long.

I'd rather sit in a coffee shop waiting out the rain
than run a shovel or snow blower to just get out
of the house and get the mail... anyday.. LOL

Yeah but no place more perfect then new england in the spring/summer/fall. Winter sux and getting old and $$ to stay warm. But in North Carolina in July/August the heat is oppressive. 90 degrees at 10pm oppressive.

FL From October to April is perfect, 70's in the days, sometimes cooler
50's at night, air is clean, we can carry our guns everywhere and ride 24/7

Plus there are no snow shovel or snow blowers to buy :D

I enjoy spending money on winter tires I would not need in Fla., winter floor mats, winter jackets, hats, mittens, snowblower gas and parts, higher heating costs, being late for work due to plows pulled off the road due to dangerous driving conditions, etc...
If I add up the money I spend on all this stuff, I could have had a nice little winter home in Fla. paid for by now. Oh well, maybe in my next life...:)

Early this morning there was a special on the cable tv: "I got swallowed by a Sink Hole". Very interesting. One county in Floreeda alone has more than 8,000 sink holes! The northeast; ZERO!

Yes, last time I was down some guy got sucked into a void in his bedroom out Tampa way, and part of a resort was "reclaimed" if I remember...but it sure is easy to move the snow they get!

Sinkhole schminkhole, the whole country has them, KY is worse
remember the Corvette Museum Sinkhole, the topology of the entire US
in that area, KY, TN, VA, NC, WV all have sinkholes

We just ride around them, 365 days a year...

Ya'll keep those mittens, hot cocoa and snow blowing shovels LOL

I'll just keep washing the sand offa my driveway while drinking a cold
one and having a ceegar standing in my shorts n wife beater in Jan...
