Since my brother missed the '96 Sporty, he's now run across a '95 Super Glide. Since my gap between buying bikes was '82 to '04, I know nothing about the EVO engine or anything about the older Dynas' for that matter.
This bike has only 5000 miles on it. It is again in his price range (not that he couldnt have a newer machine, but his OL has a tight squeeze on the check book). Once again, what to look for? Thanx

Great bike, great engine, handles great, looks cool,

as long as the one you found is in good shape, check the oil, plugs, tranny fluids,

That low miles should be a great bike...

I,ve had 5 different EVO's and they are bullet prof. They run hard and with very little problems. No limit to what you can do with them, don't know much about the Super Glide models, I'm a softtail guy. Get a manual and do regular maintenance it'll run forever.

Superglide is one of the cheapest entry level bikes HD puts out with the bigger motor..
I like em. They ride and handle great.Nothin wrong with a Super Glide man.

The 1st thing I would change is the bars. I tend to like Mini Apes on them like the Street Bob or Wide Glide.
If you are worried about the engine, ask if you can take it to a Indy shop and let them run a compression check etc.
But from what you say it sounds like a great buy.

Sadly, yes he did. Saw the ad on saturday evening, called the place at 9:00 Monday morning when they opened, and it was sold. It was on their floor for just 4 hours.

All responses are appreciated though. He's still looking, and trying to increase his budget a bit more as well. We feel better informed now for a quicker response. We'll find something yet !!

In another 30 days or so there will be some real good deals. Just before and after Sturgis everyone’s bike (so they think) is worth a whole lot more. Late September thru December are real good times to find good deals. Since the 10’s are out all bikes are a year older now, the mid and late 90’s are good models most are very basic with out all the so called advanced features of the last 5 or 6 years.

Good advice. He's pretty much decided to wait it out for now. The goal is to have one for next seasons' riding. The Honda can finish out the last couple months of this season.

We both feel alot more confident about a mid-late 90's bike after all the comments on this board. Thanx !!!

I rode a friends 93 W/G , smoothest running and shifting bike I ever rode. Go down the road at 65 mph and if it wasn't for the wind in your face you would think that you were setting in the driveway on the side stand and the engine shut down.
