Hi All, I just received a used HD tach that I bought off of E-Bay. This included the tach mount attached to the handle bar cover and the tach its self. All seems to be in really good condition and I paid less then a hundred buck with shipping, such a deal. Here the problem, I am unsure how to hook it up.
I have a 95 Roadking and the tach has 3 wires coming from it, red, black and orange. The red wire has a piece of tape on it that says tach. Does anyone know what wires to attach these to?
    Thanks for the help.

    Tach Hookup

I would suspect that the wire labled tach goes directly to your coil.

That is the tach signal wire,

take off the dash on the tank, under it you should find an unused Pink Wire, this is the tach signal wire.

You will need to butt joint and solider a wire to it, shrink wrap the joint, then run the wire up through the nacille through the small hole in the back of the clamp cover, and connect to the back of the tach or to that wire.

The orange/ white is power and the black is ground.

Thanks Hotroadking, I see the pink wire in the repair manual schematics. You save me quite a bit of trouble.
