Has anybody replaced their hot water heater with a Tankless Hot water heater.
Does it go in the place of the electric hot water heater. And one tankless heater heats up the water for the Whole house.

How long does it take for the water coming to you to be hot.
And did you save any money on your electricity bill.
    Thanks.

Had a buddy talkin about he heard about one. And his hot water is Old and he's thinkin about one.
He has only heard about them.
So I know nothin about them.

Lots of people up here use gas for their forced air furnace and water heater and it's cheaper even with our abundance of water to propel the damns. :D

Everyone up here in the country or sticks as you call it CB runs either propane or electricity. A water heater recovers much faster on gas than electricity. Might be that gas and propane is more expensive where you live but not here. If gas was available at our place we would be using it. Ours is a 50 gal electric water heater and our furnace is electric also. Winter bill will runs 230 to 250 a month but then everything is electric. Guys who use oil for heat gets some high bills to.

You won't hit $300 for LP gas. Your neighbor must cook 24/7. We have LP hot water80 gal tank and stove. Runs me $300 a year to use

What they are saying is tankless electric generally isn't as good as LP. savings are ok just not as good as gas.

However with just you during week it would work fine. I would call LP company to get estimate just to compare

Your neighbor is either pulling your leg or using a butt load of gas

Bet you don't even use your heat in the winter.
Gas is more efficient no doubt. All the homes here in the city and suburbs use gas for heating and water heater. It's just much more efficient than electricity. Like I said wished we had gas available here in the sticks where we live.:D

Nope no heat needed, if we did I'd run gas major improvement
only electricity is to run blower.

Had hot water heat when I lived in KY at one house, pretty good
    gas at the others.

If all you are doing is heating hot water in a tankless water heater
    you won't spend $300 a year

With the cold coming across the lake in the winter, my neighbor goes threw Porpane like no tomorrow. She also heats her house with it.
I watch the propane truck go to her house all the time.
And I hear the customers around the lake talk about how much it cost.

From what I know geography dictates which method is cheapest. If ya live near Niagra Falls the electric is cheap cause its made hydro electric. If ya live on Lhun Gisland the electric is made by fuel oil fired generators. Very expensive electric. Then they play the price games. Natural gas, fuel oil, propane and lectric all are priced to cost homeowners about the same. They f us just like with gasoline. Jmo

We have the biggest supply of nat. gas in CO than anywhere in the country, so it is very cheap. Heating my house and water in the worst winter months costs me $50/month.

Cardboard, look into oil burners that use old motor oil. Some are 90% efficient with no smoke. There are places here that collect your used oil (so it's not dumped in the ground) and sell it by bulk after filtered for 45 cents a gal if you have your own 55 gal drum. For folks stuck with propane, it's a big savings. And keep the old water tank--way cheaper than tankless heaters over long run. Just insulate the house better.

Propane is cheap I use it to heat hot water and forced air furnace for a 1700 sq. ft. house and a radiant heater in my 30 x32 ft garage for about $1100 a year in the sticks of WI. Just bought 1000 gallons for .99 cents a gallon and filled my tanks for the next year. I have been told if you do not use great amounts of hot water that a tankless water heater is a good idea and will save money. You only pay to heat the water when you turn the faucet on.

Here in Texas Propane is expensive.

Just went and had supper at a Mexican resturant with Redneck Chucktx and his wife.
Chucktx said he got a electric tankless hot water heater about 10 yrs ago.
    Said it works fine.
