Geez! I hate to think of sitting on the bank fishing and then have one of those sneak up on you. Never thought to bring a .45 when I go fishing.

I usually fish in beaver ponds or streams. Nothing gonna get me there unless a bear wants my fish.

If I had to worry about an alligator sneaking up on me, I wouldn't be there.

They eat whatever they can git ahold of. They love people's dogs..
They use their tail to slap cattails when birds are lit on them, when the bird falls the gators grab them.

They will get up and the shallows and eat needle nose and alligator gar and turtles.

They will come up on the bank in yer yard and lay waiting for whatever comes by.
They have been known to travel across land looking for food.
Even winding up in other bodies of water ..

They eat what ever is a opportunity to them..

People in the main lake git in the water, gators sit out from them and watch.
If I was in a creek I would pay a little more attention.
Never heard of anybody being bitten here.

Buddy had his OL up a creek croppie fishin, when his girlfriend said ...
Oh Look a iguana on a tree in the water, go over and let's help it,
He turned and looked and said, Shelly please !
That ain't no iguana and if you jack with it and it screams his mamma will come
    Running, then we're in trouble:roflmao:
