Took this one for a ride last weekend. It's a '68 Electra Glide. Only 500 or so miles on rebuilt engine, but it sure is noisy. Runs nice though, and rides straight. Takes a bit to get used to the heavy clutch pull, the long throw on the shifter, and the brake location for the rear. Oldest scooter I've ever rode, the next would be a '72 honda. Oldest Harley for me was an '82 Super Glide, which was again quite different than this one. It's for sale if anyone is interested.

Chucktx had a 65 Pan. YOu now realize why he sold it.

I had a 64 Pan that I tried to ride forever.
    The clutch pull was hell.
I never want to go back to those days.

You should ride a 11 or newer EG.
You will be blowed away at how easy it is to pull the clutch and how well the 103 engines runs.

Chuck still had the Pan when I was there. I was on an '11 just a couple weeks ago, and have ridden newer ones besides that one as well. it is an easy clutch for sure. Let it out a bit too quick first few times. One of the bikes had a warmed up 103, the other a stocker. Stocker wasn't even close to my '95 incher, The other was a different story tho. When I trade it will be a 103, or it'll be cheap enough that I can upgrade to it. Missed a real nice '11 limited a while back. Oh well, can't afford it right now anyway.

I really don't understand why folks do it over and over and over.

How do you take a STOCK bike and compare it to a Built bike.
    How.

The new bikes are real dependable and run smooth.
I'd rather have a stock new bike than a built 95"
I want to go places and travel. I can do that with a stock bike.
They have a speed limit. You can run the speed limit very easy with a stock bike
Just rented a 13 limited and ran 80 mph in the mountains of AZ
YOu don't need to do anymore.

I'll compare my stock 96 to a stock 103 any day. Even with all the miles I have on mine, it will easily outrun the new 103.

Riding two up, I will climb over Independence Pass (12,000' +) in 6th gear except for hairpin turns. Cruise the highway effortlessly at 85 @3,000 rpm in 6th, and still pulls incredibly hard to 100 without downshifting. Who needs a stroker?

Like I said before, it's completely stock inside. Only changes I made are accessories like pipes, air intake, tuner. It doesn't have any more torque, but it doe have more hp.

Now you're gonna say it's not stock because of this, but I consider it stock.

I got a upgraded air intake on my bike. upgraded header pipe. and upgraded mufflers. And a Thunder-Max. My bike runs real good.

The only thing I will ever do is change the cam out. That's it.

Know the 103's have more torque

    Then I don't understand how a stock 96 is gonna outrun a 103
    The 103 has more torque

Cardboard, torque only gets you going from a standing start. Horsepower KEEPS you going after you get moving. My stock 96 is making more hp (after my modifications) than a stock 103. I told you I could make a stock 96 motor put out 96 hp easily with just ecm adjustments--more if I wanted. If I can outrun a RG with 110 motor, blowing off a 103 is a piece of cake.

I have to get my compensator sprocket replaced and will have it checked on a dyno after, but I'm guessing it will show over 100 rw hp.

I can send you my ECM and you play with it and do your magic.
When I get it back I will stick it in my bike and see what you got.
It might not be as good as my Thunder-Max

Well, I guess you could call it "character" lol,
Think he's been looking for 10,000. Probably why he still has it.
It's a pretty good old bike though, and fun to ride.
