The Outlaw Dave ranch Ride is for a fantastic cause....there should be a lot more places like the Stevens and Pruett Humane Ranch for Children and Animals the world over....for me, that alone would be the reason to show up and support!!!

I like Texas, too, and they do have everything - except rain these days. I'd like to go but it's a little too far and the wrong time of year for me - got to make that legal tender . . . I bet the weather is really good down there in the fall.

I was jokin around. I saw a little bit of Texas several years ago. Went to San Antonio to consult on huge concrete water storage tanks. Went to River Walk. I was there two days and it rained both! My luck. Fell on wet diamond plate stairs in the municiple parking garage and eventually the fall caused "Traumatic Onset Arthritist" in my left shoulder. Eventually I'll need a shoulder replacement. Anyway, fished in some land-locked lake for Red Fish being careful of many many rattlers! Then I drove through northern Texas with #3 son when he was moving to Arizona. I found out what they mean by "Flat" on that trip. We got ourselves pulled over by one of the Troopers. My son had been a cop in Pennsylvania so his ID got us a warning (we was going about 120 in his SRT4 Dodge Caliber. I thought for sure we were going to the moosecow).

It was US 40 we took across a little bit of Texas. Sons 1 & 2 spent some time in Ft Sam Houston. Older brother did basic training (USAF) in Lakeland Air Base in the late 60's, and was almost killed by tornados that ripped the base apart. Other than that, all I know is that "John Travolta was country when country wasn't cool" Ha only kiddin again! :roflmao:

We'll do it. Whenever I take my short hops just to blow the cobwebs out, I always shoot down 35 to Alvin then decided from there where the hell I'm going. Usually go down 1462 to where it dead ends into 36. Then to freeport and back roads back to Pearland.

I know of several places on that route to get cold libations.

I heard on satellite radio (The Highway) this morning Texas has been 294 straight days with wildfire burning somewhere in the state. Unbelievable! :gah:
