I can see going even faster on those long, lonely roads in west Texas. We here in N.C. can go no faster than 70.

When you get to Kerrville heading west the speed limit has been 80 mph.
I ran 95 on my bike heading to Ft STockton on my trip to Big Bend.

And on all the two lane twisties we have here in western NC, 55 is fast. Going over Gap on I26 today and at 65 wind was moving me all over the road... at times a bit scary.... ;)

Interstate hiways here in CO are 75, but everyone is going 85-90. You've got to stay on the throttle or get run over.

I know what you mean. You just have to slow down when it gets like that. And we don't use windshields or fairings either, so the wind is a big factor. 65 is plenty fast for me - a little more with the wind at my back.

5 yrs ago I had a 07 WG, both the OL and me wore modular helmets.
We rode everywhere with no windshiels runnin the interstates at 80 +
You have to learn how so lean forward some on the bike when the wind is the strongest.
I sell ride the OL nighster down the interstate some of the time. run 70-90 on it.

Got to build those neck muscles up some.

You ride like I do CB. When I'm on a lonely stretch of road, I like to stretch her legs and run wide open. I found the top end of every bike I ever owned on Hwy 85 going up to Monument, CO. This one hit 135 on that road, but the fastest one (Honda VFR 1100) did 160. "You got to know your limitations!"

I did like Chucktx once I hit 60 I started slowing down.
My fast days and runnin top speed are over.
90 is plenty too fast for me now.
    I like 70-80 for cruzing.

Cmon, don't you boys need some excitement sometimes? Harleys are not race bikes, but they can pump your blood enough to keep you from falling asleep.

That's not the kind of excitement anyone wants! Hope you got home safe.

Cardboard, we EXPECT all that stuff to happen, but I'm talking rip-roaring down the road once in a while to get the adrenalin going. Use that bike the way it was designed for, and you'll be happy you did.

It's like when an old guy buys a red Porche 911 and drives 55 all the time, you ask "Why?"

When we do a group ride I say "65(mph) is for Winnebagos. We're riding motorcycles!"
