Couple times a day I check and try to follow the news of the day. Lately its been absolutely apocalyptic. Riots all over the USA in major cities, multiple shootings of citizens by police, murders, homicides, threats of pension shortfalls, star chasers crying/complaining about there past poor decisions and blaming other people 40 years later, over paid professional sport players knocking out there significant others, the President misrepresenting the country and its constituents (and why?) and the bad news just goes on and on.

In the Army and while efforting for a promotion one of the tasks was knowing current events and being quized on it in the promotion process and thats what started me watching the news daily. In the 35 years since I feel I can accurately state that the news is at an all time low.

And I can't seem to break that read the news habit but I'm gonna keep working on it because its gonna exponentionally continue to get worse.. Constant bad news can kill you.

What really errks me is college kids don't even know who the heck is the Vice President, can't tell you who we fought in the Revolutionary war, civil war or who won let alone Pear Harbor, Vietnam and even WWII. All they care about is getting drunk and screwing Sally. They have no pride in our country or the people who kept them safe so they could be who they are.
But they sure as heck get in line to protest something they know very little about or care about. I get so disgusted with the youth of this country today. Enough on my rant.

And that's why I don't watch or listen to it any more. Most of it isn't news anyway, at least not in the tradition of Huntley & Brinkley. Now it's opinions and speculation . . .

How do you know if you don't watch it. I like watching it first in the morning and then in the evening I watch the Kelly File, for more than one reason. :D

I watched it up until a few years ago and finally got fed up with it. I don't want to know. I'd rather get it second hand from Mac the Wife or someone other than the spinmasters we have posing as news anchors.

I will only watch FOX news anymore but don't like Bill Orielly or Shawn Hannity much. To much twisting things, bickering and fighting. Get real tired of all that.

Bring back mandatory draft, prayer and pledge of allegiance in the classroom and let parents whoop on that child's ass as needed.

I got tore up as a kid. (I was slick as a kid, I'd get a few minutes warning that it was happening so I'd either stuff a few reader digest down my pants or put on a couple pairs of underwear depending on which was handy at the time and dance around like it hurt).

Gotta die from something. Imagine the embarrassment you'll feel if ya dying and it's from nothing. "Hey what's killing ya?" "Er, nothing". Very embarrassing if ya ask me.

At this juncture in our history and in what direction we go as a nation is out of my hands. Its out of your hands. We can't even stick together as a nation on the simpliest issues never mind the big ones, all the while being furthered beguiled by slanted media and special interest controled politicians further widen the gap between us. And we are gotten...divided and conquered. Like a famous author wrote " we are but like sheep to slaughter"

Those of us who are fortunate enough to have a decent job and one that allows us a few simple and humble ammenities like a modest home, a car, motorcyle etc..are in my opinion lulled into a false sense of any input or control of this country. Your/our vote is neutralized by the some undermining force that allows illegal immigrants and other ner do wells into our system cart blanche. Why was President Obama and who is not a natural born American citizen be allowed to run for President? Not saying conspiracy theory but why for example would the state of North Carolina allow, no make it a law that illegal immigrants can attend community college for free? Why? Doesn't make sense to me. Get them the f*ck out of here until they can enter legally and effort to deserve and earn to be citizens of America. To love and appreciate this country and the people for how great we used to be, could still be. Need to be.

It's worse than that. It's the great deceiver. Evil is winning the spiritual war. The "New World Order". I truly believe that the world is in its end days. When? I don't know but it's slowly happening. I need another drink.

The media thinks it has to tell all. Sometimes the get it right the first time, sometimes not. People are so out of touch on simple things like holding a door for the older person, not just the smokin hot chic Or not having a public display if someone at a register wants to spend 20 seconds giving the correct change. All the things that lead to helping others and feeling good are going to the curb. Want it all and no please- Now. I am 57 and still enjoy my relationship with my customers, still float people when the car needs more than in there pocket.

I truly believe that this country took a huge dive when Obummer was elected. And, he has made it OK to lie with everyone knowing, without any recourse. This has set a precedence across our country that's dishonesty is OK.

Ok to lie started with Clinton in my opinion. He lied to the world 3x over the Monica thing. The fact he had sex isn't the issue, he lied is. He set the example to everyone. Nixon lied, and he paid the price. Clinton didn't. Politicians around here get caught not paying taxes and nothing happens to them (Rangel). Parents pass stop signs with the kids sitting in the car. Hey, it's ok to break the law if you want! A football player corrects his son with a switch and he gets screwed. My dad would be locked up for years for correcting me and my brother and sisters but I'm damn glad he did. A guy behind me on a cashier line told me I was an ass for telling the cashier she made a $20 mistake in my favor and gave her the 20 back. Others Shirt is more important than any one else's do get the hell out of the way of them !

    I use to like McCain.

McCain came to NH during the 2000 election to the restaurant I was working called "Jesse's" in Hanover,NH. I was able to be the first one to ask him a question after Tim Russert introduced him. My question was "All the candidates are criss crossing the Upper Valley but non, no one has stopped at the local White River Jct, Vermont VAMC. As a one time POW are you planning to stop and vsiit the vets over at the VAMC before you leave?" John McCain replied " I know what you're saying the budget cuts effecting the VAMC's is wrong." I replied "no I mean simply coming over to visit in person like George Bush Senior did whe n he was running for president." McCain replied "I was just there for meetings." I said "no you weren't I work there and you have not been there yet."

    That is a true story.

The man lied and broke my heart. I thought he was the perfect candidate being a republican and POW. He was/is just another political assh*le.
