As far as manning the borders with retired military and no shooting allowed for southbound traffic - that would take all the fun out it. But I'll be nice if they send me and just hurry them critters along with well placed "warning" shots.:roflmao:

Can't say as I'm so gung-ho for these.

(1). Any use of the phrase: 'Press 1 for English' is immediately banned. English is the official language; speak it or wait outside of our borders until you can.
Disagree- As long as the government (city, state or fed) doesn't REQUIRE multilingal capability, then that's good enough for me. Let the free, legal market decide.

(2). We will immediately go into a two year isolationist attitude in order to straighten out the greedy big business posture in this country. America will allow NO imports, and we'll do no exports. We will use the 'Wal-Mart 's policy, 'If we ain't got it, you don't need it.' We'll make it here and sell it here!
Disagree- Did you know we import half our food now? And isolationism is as much a utopian crock of poodoo as communism is - it has failed every time it is tried.

(3). When imports are allowed, there will be a 100% import tax on it coming in here.
Disagree- Another utopian crock of poodoo. I'm all for fair trade, as the American people have always kicked butt in level competition, but ANY tax is a reduction of freedom, and I believe in freedom first, then reasonable restrictions/reductions (AKA - taxes) only to fund the REQUIREMENTS of good government.

(4). All retired military personnel will be required to man one of the many observation towers located on the southern border of the United States (six month tour). They will be under strict orders not to fire on SOUTHBOUND aliens.
Disagree- Cute, but I hope there is a buy-out option. I spent frickin' 27 years serving my country, suffering through miserable conditions away from my loved ones and now with many ailments - amongst which is crappy hearing and deteriorating joints. I'd rather we addressed this with the National Guard, since it is in their friggin' mission statement.

(5). Social Security will immediately return to its original state. If you didn't put nuttin in, you ain't gettin nuttin out. Neither the President nor any other politician will be able to touch it.
Agree- It will need to be a Constitutional ammendment, but it is probably very doable. And we will need to age-adjust it - or reduce the benefits.

(6). Welfare. -- Checks will be handed out on Fridays, at the end of the 40 hour school week, the successful completion of a urinalysis test for drugs, and passing grades.
Agree- Should have been that way from the start.

(7). Professional Athletes -- Steroids? The FIRST time you check positive you're banned from sports .... for life.
Disagree- I think they should be allowed to use any frickin' PED they want. SInce they get millions of bucks to play a game, why not let them be the testing ground for all sorts of medical miracle breakthroughs that would then be available to the rest of us poor Joes? For everyone that whines about the home run records being broke by Bonds (unconfirmed PEDer) or MaGuire (confirmed 'roider), remember that they hit 'em off 'roiding, PEDing pitchers.

I'd sure like to be able to see better and get around better as the years go on, and would even feel greatful to the billionaire ballplayers for the chance to.


(8). Crime -- We will adopt the Turkish method, i.e., the first time you steal, you lose your right hand... There is no more 'life sentences'. If convicted of murder, you will be put to death by the same method you chose for the victim you killed: gun, knife, strangulation, etc.
Disagree- Well, before I grew up and became a responsible citizen, I did shoplift. A lot. I would never have been able to serve my country so well had I been a multiple amputee...and there would be a lot more innocent dead Americans (and some allies, too) had I not served. Islam is not where I think our criminal code should look to improve itself.


(9). One export of ours will be allowed: wheat; because the world needs to eat. However, a bushel of wheat will be the exact price of a barrel of oil..
Disagree- We could be crushed by the weak wheat market. Just a cute idea.


(10). All foreign aid, using American taxpayer money, will immediately cease and the saved money will help to pay off the national debt and, ultimately, lower taxes. When disasters occur around the world, we'll ask The American People if they want to donate to a disaster fund, and each citizen can make the decision as to whether, or not, it's a worthy cause.
Disagree- but with a caveat - I think it remains too much in our interest to be able to maintain the ability to provide swift and merciful aid when disaster strikes to limit this in too sweeping a fashion, but if Congress were limited by time/dollars to some per capita ratio, it would be better than the way the UN and the "Crisis Industry) just robs us blind today.

(11). The Pledge of Allegiance will be said every day at school and every day in Congress.
Mostly Agree- Schools should teach the Constitution and the real history of this country, (with a little less emphasis on the bad things, but not to exclude them, either), and should teach the Pledge - but not made mandatory. Congress should recite it before each meeting, and those that do not or do not adhere to its intent should be summarily dismissed.

(12). The National Anthem will be played at all appropriate ceremonies, sporting events, outings, etc.

There are a lot of good points here, but I would have to agree with Red. There are so many different things to consider in today's society, versus when the most of you grew up.

I tend to agree with most things when it is in protest of how our government governs, but there are many ways that we can overcome these opportunities for improvement without infringing on anyones freedoms in any way.

Just to suggest, one of them, and I am not a member, is the TEA PARTY. That is just a suggestion.

I hear our country is tired of how our government governs, but what has the people of OUR country done to to correct this? From what I see, we keep electing liars and not try anything different.

So who is the really the blame?

Since we are the voters, we carry no responsibility of how our country has turned?

So Republicans share absolutely no fault in how our country has turned out????

JB - FLHTB's point is that the Dems are the ones who keep crapping in the nest. No, the Repubs haven't been perfect - too many RINOs that have succumbed to the powertrip that status in D.C. infuses folks with. But the Repubs did not create the mortgage crisis; the illegal invasion; the creation of a welfare class/destruction of the Black family; the appeasement of our sworn enemies; the restriction of our freedom in the name of "equity"; the conditions for the Dot.com bubble; the health care takeover; et-freakin'-cetera. Bill Clinton's "success" as President is 100% attributable to the Repub takeover of the House in '94(for the first time in 40 years). Know the truth, and be free.

The Dems of today are power-mad Socialists (and socialism has failed everytime it has been tried, from the Plymouth Rock colony to the Soviet Union and beyond). The (majority of) Repubs today would fit right in with J.F. Kennedy Dems. The Conservatives of today are the only folks willing to get us back to a freedom w/responsibility loving people. We need to return to a democratic republic of meritocracy, or the whole friggin' civilized world will collapse to strong-arm tyrants like Chavez, Ahmadinejad, Putin - et-friggin'-cetera.

Not that I'd know anything....but I do. Country folk can survive, but we'd rather live free.

I guess I ask this? How exactly was it the "DEMS" fault of the mortgage crisis?? From what I know, the mortgage crisis was a "private industry" problem that was created due to the lack of government oversight!!! Both parties are responsible because both parties did not step in and say " hey, what is going on is going to have massive consequences!" Both Repubs,and Demos are to blame!

Now as far as the Repubs complicity, lets be honest, it started long before our large recession. What about NAFTA? That piece of legislation was introduced be a Repub! Yes. it was signed into law by a Demo, but all of the foreground was set by SR. Lets not forget the bail outs that the government created for the automotive industry, again, this was initiated by a Repub! I have read countless posts that talk **** about that, well, it was JR. that put that into play, not Obama.

Yes, it was Obama that signed it, but it was the capitalistic America way of life that made that decision.

We sit here and talk about the mortgage crisis, how were the Demo's directly involved in that? Sorry to inform you all, but the mortgage crisis was created by "Wall Street," a private entity.

Many people can point the finger at any government group and say that it was this group or that group created the problem, but a the same time, how many of us were complaining when we saw our home values rise dramatically???? How many of us saw the $$$$ an said, Yes, "Show me the money?" I bet each and every one us said, yes, I will take because I can get this and I can get that, and very low interest rates????

I have purchased a home here in the last 6 years, because of the market, even at that time, I had to get an ARM (Adjustable Rate Mortgage). I am not in foreclosure because I chose not borrow against something that I did really do not own, thus, having to make an extra payment.

Please explain to me how the Demos are the responsible party??????
