I just got a 98 FLSTC and took the windshield off to adjust my handle bars cause I'm a tall guy and needed them to go forward a little bit. But the cables immediately took up all the extra slack. I haven't dug into it any further, but will I need to buy longer cables? Or should I be able to get a few extra inches of slack by adjusting the cables somewhere? I'd just like to get some input before I do anything.

    Thanks

You should be able to move things around a bit without new cables, they may be connected to the frame and restricing the amount of movement.

IF you go to taller bars or really wide bars you'd need to go to longer cables, brake, clutch and throttle.
