    because it pings and different gas dont make any differents. it has drag pipes an big sucker air cleaner

    What's going on when it pings?? How fast and what gear you in??What are the RPM's?? Is the breather still going into the intake or did you reroute it to the atmosphere??
    Have you done anything else with the bike?Stock ignition??
    There are a few things that can cause pinging,carbon build up,lugging the engine...if you didn't mess with the ignition,they rarely go out of time....

    A 2005 Sporty has no way to have the timing changed.
    It is controlled Electronically via a Crank Position Sensor.

    sounds like a tuning is needed, you put on drags and open filter, bike is
    lean and needs more fuel...

    thanks for the help. i should have known to rejet my carb.i also have a shovel and i am always changing carbs an pipes an timing but it is old skool. it threw me off when i took the pionts cover off my 05 sporty and there was nothing there.im not a big fan of computer CRAPP but i guess i better get ues to it if i am going to have a newer bike. RIDE HARD RIDE FAST

    Yep we gave to bite The bullet on these computer bikes , at least you have a carb :)
