Very interesting stuff. I have Avons front & rear and the rear tire does show deeper treads on the side walls.

Yep...keep the right air pressure in them...which isn't usually the the "Book" says, usually between the book and "Max cold inflation on the sidewall"

Awwwe man, why bother going then!!!;):roflmao:

    Spammer !
How do these people get through?

Just replaced both tires for the 11, the front and rear cupped
which is probably due to underinflation, so I have to keep an eye
on them got 16,000 out of the rear and could have gotten a bit more
it was cupped on the sides, odd...

new tires with discount, installed (you can't get cvo sizes anywhere but HD
dealers for now) with front brake pads (normally I do this myself but would have saved only $100 in labor overall, was $700+

Bike rides like new, handles better, it's rainy season here so its time for treads.

HRK; When I first replaced the tires on my 09 street glide had to go to HD for correct size($$$). Since then Dunlop came out with the Americn Ellite series, which are correct size and constuction, slightly different tread pattern,WAY cheaper from Dennis Kirk. Have 11k on them and they have AT LEAST half of good tread still on them.

    Spammer message gone.

I noticed coming back on my weekend trip while we were into the corners that I would get front end movement back and forth. Have right at 9000 on the tires now and was wondering if I'm getting tire cupping. Need to put the bike up on the lift and check. Interesting enough I check tire pressure quit often. When I need to change them I'll have to check out those new tires that Charlie46 mentioned.

Does the owners manual call for LESS pressure than the sidewall of the tires??? I always follow the sidewall max load recommendation drop the front by 2 lbs and keep the rear full and frankly never checked the manual. Cupping only happens in the front BUT I lean on the front brakes always.

Yeah, manual says 36lbs front and 36lbs rear unless you load a passenger, then it says 40lbs rear....doesn't mention if the passenger is 110lbs or 330lbs still 40lbs:rolleyes:

Put the 2lbs back in the front. Run mine 41FRT-40RR. Low in the front especially causes cupping.

Talked with Sm he says run them hard, ie 40 no matter what, they are heavy bikes

The 09 wheels are 17 inch, my CVO is 18 inch front and rear, the Dunlap Ahmurcun's are not out yet for the CVO wheels, I did run one on my 09 RG, yep cheaper, next time give
Phil a call for the tire, he drop ships it right to you and a good price, plus he's a one man band shop in KS, indie shop, nice guy and will help you with whatever you need

DK is good, but I like to help out the little entrepreneur, you know the guy that "didn't build that business by himself"

If your ride is a bagger 09 or later you need either the S.E.s from HD or the Dunlop Amer.Ellite's. Dennis Kirk has great prices and free shipping/3 days at your door.:)

I've been running 40 front and 42 rear. Done that for years and have never had a problem. Still need to check the front tire for cupping. I run pretty hard into the corners and sometimes I push the envelope, always have, love it.:)

I love the corners as well, wife says I lean too far,
she's used to the heritage that was lean limited by
height of the frame. Ground the floorboards off that sucker

The RG leans way more and being taller she feels it.

By myself I love to get over on the edge of the fat tires...

My wife used to say "do we have to" just take all the fun out of it. Now she rides her own, a trike and even Maddog says she takes those corners pretty hard.
