    Hey Abby,
Did you ever think about submitting some of your articles to Quick Throttle or Thunder Roads magazines or Scooter news? They each have web sites too. quickthrottle.com and thundercolorado.com

I spoke to the Quick Throttle editor at an event a while ago. I don't think any of those pay for articles at all, but now that you got me thinking about it, it wouldn't hurt to boost readers at my Examiner site - and my book, if I can ever get it written and published.

    Good idea! Thanks.

HTT is really good for volume, but someone posted a comment on my article about washing bikes that has me ticked off. I assume the guy's from HTT, but I could be wrong. I'm not sure how to handle it. I don't want to let it go, because I feel it will create an unfriendly site for the "victims" of his derogatory comment, but I don't want to stir things up and have him on there blasting me or insulting others on a regular basis. I've been thinking about it on and off all day, and have come up with a bunch of different ideas. Maybe you guys can help.

The guy said something along the lines of "life is too short to ride a dirty Harley and date fat chicks..." The guy calls himself "Studds". I don't know whether to laugh or barf. I thought about deleting it and making a comment stating that Examiner is an open site (meaning no logon or memberships required), and I want to keep it friendly for everyone. The rest of the post was totally legitimate and worthwhile, but it seriously irks me that he had to throw the fat chick comment in there.

    What do you think?

I haven't read the article, but my feeling about this is to delete it if it will cause a problem. I guess I have learned over the years to just let go of things that irk me rather than cause a big nothing deal outta nothing. I'm not turning tail, just don't wanna expend the energy in a negative way. Forgive and forget I guess. That's all I've got... Best of luck and I do like reading your articles!!!:)

I think I'd just ignore him. He has already shown his lack of intelligence and taste, and is obviously not making a living as a comedian. With a moniker like "Studd", he is obviously overcompensating for a lack of self esteem. Probably still a virgin.

Sorry someone did that, but we have to remember the internet is full of self righteous indigent idiots, know-it-all, self indulgent wieners... lol of course not here...

I go on a few web sites like my old newspaper from my home town, and invariably there is a post on an article that is either moronic, hateful or just baiting...

However after reading his post I think he's just repeating a phrase a lot of guys say when they are joking around, actually most of us guys would just be happy a gal returned the smile without a laugh LOL

Its just a guy being a dumb guy remark.... not worth the worry, it appears when you read the whole post he's not being malicious...just being a typical male... not that bright.... LOL

I was thinking it was probably that guy that was YELLING AT ME HERE a while back. :roflmao:

You're right. If I call attention to it, then he gets to respond. I feel the same thing would happen if I delete it. I'm just going to let it go. Chuck gave a response that takes away the bite. It was probably the most benign article I've written anyway. I can't imagine it will get much more attention.

    yeah, I posted for ya...

didn't address him, it drops it down the list.

btw if you read past the stupid male comment he basically agrees with you on cleaning the bike and how he does it...

I think it was a poor attempt at a complement for your writing and some normal dumb stuff tossed in, which of course its typically male...

BTW he's got 40 K on the bike in 6 years (7 model years) which is a little over 6500 a year, not much miles wise you can do that in a month or two LOL

Yeah, I felt the post was worthwhile other than that stupid fat chick comment. I was thinking that if he washes it after every ride, he might just be riding it on Sunday. I noticed my tires are getting old again. I'm pretty sure I was at about 78,000 after the "Daytona" trip in March, and now I've got 86.5K I swear the miles are shorter out here. I can't believe how quickly they roll by.
