triple trees?

    if i put 2" over fork tubes on my 94 heritage softail what degree triple trees should i use to keep the bike level?will this cause handling problems?

    I might be wrong, but here it goes.... I THINK that CD put a link SOMEWHERE here in the forums for a rake/trail calculator. I am NOT a mechanic, do not fully understand rake and trail, HOWEVER, what I do understand is that if the measurements are not right, will dump you off at the first curve you take!! You may try doing a search within the forums for the calculator link. I know it was mentioned within a post/topic, think it was a link to another site that had the calculator. Maybe someone else remembers specifically........ :confused:

    I have a 94 Dyna with Progressive Suspension on the rear. The shocks lowered the bike 2" below stock. I then went with a set of 3 degree trees. My frame neck is 28 degrees, stock. I have had no problems with the conversion, but I agree with the route of doing the rake and trail calculator. The bottom line is, how much are you willing to take a chance with regarding your life? I feel that with the conversion I did, I'm safe, but others may dis-agree. You must make the final call on the matter. Do your homework.

    Yes you got to be careful with the “trail” of your cycle. A heritage’s rake is 26 degrees, (I think). The trail is around 6”, so you got a little to play with, but with an 26 neck, I would NEVER go with any thing more than a 3 degree tree. (JMO). I myself have 5 degree trees, but my neck is 36, and my tubes are 6 over, which brings my trail to an almost perfect 4.3 inches of trail. I posted the link to the calculator on the other thread.
