Ram already has the 8 behind the V8
they are bringing out a small Diesel next year

Ford will be right with them, they have a turbo 5
going in the Transit from Europe, tested

More speeds are not bad you get less
change in ratio per gear so it's smoother.

My 07 Dodge 2500 Ram with 6.7 Cummins Turbo Diesel has the 6 speed with a tow speed setting. Still hate buying Diesel.

    well if ya ain't towing
    won't matter.

I like it running on kitchen oil...

although would the savings be worth the cost of
    picking that stuff up.

Buddy Phil that owns CA Phils Bike shop in Corn Cornyah KS (Concordia)
put in an oil heater that runs on that stuff, heats the shop for no
    bucks.

Now if you could run the AC on the stuff.... We could use it in Flarider

Guy named Dan that I know owns a Auto Repair shop and has a waste oil furnace that burns all the used oil from oil changes he does. Free oil and why not. Just had a drum full of waste oil from oil changed and took it down to him, he was a real happy shop owner. :)

Ford doesn't even make a manual transmission in a truck anymore.
