I got your jet kit from this site and I'm still coughing off idle and stalling at the traffic lights:mad: . I have a 88 tc in my 06 heritage. I have a Screamin eagle A/C . I have Rush slip-ons with 1.5 inch baffle in them. Starts fine , Idles fine.. Runs fine.... But It sucks off idle . The plugs look light tan in color. I had a 42 pilot and 190 main in it before with the stock pipes and Stock a/c... I put your 48 and 195 in it with the a/c and pipes and It still coughs and now stalls out. Started at 1 3/4 turns out and I'm at 3 turns out on the mixture and still coughing and stalling:confused: . Please HELP I'm not a tuner.

Going from a #42 to the #48 is a pretty dramatic jump and I'm surprised your bike was idling properly with such a small pilot jet (stock TC88 has a #45). If anything you might be running rich rather than still too lean, so this isn't the problem.

I suspect either an exhaust leak or intake leak. Intake leaks can be checked by spraying some WD40 around the intake boot while at idle. A leak there will be apparent if the idle changes when sprayed. If the head pipes were ever removed I would start looking for an exhaust leak there. Reusing exhaust gaskets will often not seal correctly and I strongly recommend changing them to the Screamin' Eagle version gaskets. Same goes for the mesh gaskets between the cross-over. A leaking cross-over will cause all kinds of trouble.

Also I've seen with the Rush mufflers that they don't always get a good seal unless you tighten the clamps with an impact wrench. Just be careful that you don't pinch them. Personally I change my clamps whenever I change mufflers since they can become distorted to the shape of the prior pipe end.

Any exhaust leak will often be mistaken for incorrect jetting. Thoroughly check these first and let me know.

I did have a 45 jet (stock) not the 42 I stated before Sorry about that mis information. I'll check for those leaks and get back with you. I did put new mess gaskets it when I installed the slip-ons. I 'll check the clamps and intake gasket. Thanks for the info.
