Check your turn signal wires from the handle bar switches all the way to all 4 of the turn signals, I'm thinking you have a grounded wire...Let me know....Ride Safe, David.

I mean inside the switch housings. There has to be a way to check for grounds that way, yah?

The meter should work. But I always like to visually check. Ride Safe, David.

    Are your turn-signals stock-or- aftermarket(sm. bulb/l.e.d. type)?
Any recent handlebar changes w/internal wiring done?
My first suggestion would be to check your service manual(get one if you don't already have one).A load equilizer maybe needed if you're using small type bulbs or L.E.D.s
    Goodluck! 00wildglide.;)

Badland And This Forum Is What It Takes

I also replaced my lights front and back on my fxr. I wanted them to be running lights, brake lights and directionals. Just like everyone here says, go through your wiring esp. under the rear tire. I found many bare wires under there from rubbing from the tire. it's a good thing to do every so often.
Also there is so much good info. here, you have to take each step. going from the e.z. ones to the harder ones. it seems it always turns out to be the simple thing that messes with you. Badland and this forum will set you in the right direction for sure. There are many wise men here. I have just started to work on my own bike. Believe me it has been a big eye opener for sure.
I have the time now and don't have the money to have someone else to do my work. So I am forced to learn, which is a good thing. I can't wait to get into the engine. I hope I don't ever need too but I know there are people here and my buds I ride with that will show me the light. Glad to hear all is well. There are some happenings coming up here in Las Vegas in Sept. from the 14th to the 17th. It should be a blast. Come out this way and win some of my money back. Hope to see you out here. Gumby321 Peace

I would love to ride to Vegas. We have done some really interesting rides, including Tampa to Myrtle Beach, to Cherokee and back, Tampa to Nashville and fell in love with the hills just east of there and actually moved to the hills within months of seeing the beauty here. I went to the H.D. school in Orlando and got to be a certified tech. Then started working in a H.D. shop for a couple years, realized what a rip off they are and left, went to a custom shop and loved it, then I got hit by a car (whille walking in a parking lot to my car) and ruined my back. So I am the only one to ever work on my bike so far. I dropped it in some loose gravel and when it came time to rebuild it I went with all aftermarket, NOTHING on my DWG says H.D. now, it is actually hard to tell it is a DWG cause of the stretch tanks and wide full length rear fender, 4 inch risers and apehangers, (fun) During the electric class at MTI I had both my parents pass away so I wasn't there but they gave me a passing grade anyway. I have always been afraid of electricty. So here I am, My husband and I are building our home/barn. It is almost time to wire it. At least running all the wire before it is connected to the power source gives me calm. Maybe I will learn more about it now. LOL. Oh well enough ramble? talk at y'all later. This is an awesome forum, and I will continue to monitor it and learn more. Thanks all. Jeannie

By the way Gumby, I lived in Vegas for a couple months when I was 18 (alonnnggg looonnngggg time ago) and my friend Mary Ann stayed there. She was a change person at one of those casinos and when I went back like 20 years later she worked in the change cage and I can't imagine what she is doing now? Probably CFO! LOL. I think it was called the MGM back then.

Yes to both. I put bullet spots on my forward controls in 2000, they were great. I rode with a pack back then, and never used my turn signals. Then everyone started putting their bullets on their crash bars or foot controls so I took mine off. We moved to Tennessee and stopped riding in the pack, so I started using my turn signals again and realized they didn't work. I dropped the bike and put custom everything on it including lights, and still my turn signals no go. I asked your forum for ideas?? not realizing I needed a badlands (basically failed electricity class at MTI). I put in a badlands and waahlaah!! All my lights work great.
Yes we are building a home, 1st we built a barn and now framing out the rooms, then running electricity to all areas, my fear of electricity should be gone after this. LOL...
I am not sure about other areas but, it is impoosible to get contractors to show up so we have done all except septic. The contractors here would rather be fishing or hunting. I don't blame them so would I. Thanks again forum for the suggestions and the answer to my lights prob. As far as contractors ie: electricins & plumbers, I will take suggestions on that too. The best part of turning our barn into a home is a place for the scooters anywhere we want...

    Knowing When To Say When

I have done some hammering in my past. I built sets for the motion picture biz for 30 years. I have a great suggestion for you. Hire some go getters out of high school and teach them what to do. It might take some time at first but the youth will be set on fire when they learn they can make some money. also learning a trade at the same time.
My biggest suggestion to you since this is a barn you are working on is
insulation.....do not skimp on any opening. every little crack and hole fill. fill it until it come out. use that expanding stuff for the areas that you cant get into. raddiant heat....use the wind and sun for power. try and beat the system. if i was doing a project of this nature. thats what i would do.
good luck and make sure you have plush carpeting where the bikes will be. You know they like soft....gumby321 peace and good luck

Yep, another great idea. We insulated the steel walls and ceiling, now we are going to insulate the framed walls as well. As far as the carpet gors, I am staining the concrete floors in each room to go with the decor. Where we park the bikes we will have a sheep skin rug. LOL. Thanks again for the great idea of hiring the high school kids. But we live in the country and the kids already have a ton of chores when they get out of school. No prob. we can handle it. Nothing can weigh as much as the steel z's or columns, it is all light duty from here on in. Take care.
