Some time ago someone posted a web site for a heat shield that installs under a HD seat. It has clear lexan panels that extend down and out behind the rear jug to deflect the heat away from the rider. Does anyone still have that information? I have a Badlander seat on my FXSTD that is very comfortable, but it does place the rider closer to the rear cylinder than the taller stock factory seat. Thanks!

    Heat shield

That's what i was looking for. Will research both choices. Hotroadking, I will try the Ohio dealer if I go with the Huryakyn. I'm in Mercer, Pa, right on the Ohio border. AFNurse, if they make any appreciable difference I will be satisfied. Thanks, guys.

    Heat shields installed

Finally got time to order and install the Kuryakin units from J P Cycles. Installing took 15 minutes, tops. Does not help with the heat coming off the oil tank, which I didn't expect it to, but does a bangup job on deflecting the heat from the rear jug when sitting in traffic. I'd say it takes care of 70% of the problem, for a reasonable price. Blends well with the bike lines also, not ugly or intrusive. Would definitely recommend it.

    Just curious

Did you check with Jenny at the HD dealer link? Jenny has been selling parts on the internet through the boards (HTT Etc) for years, highly reliable, never over priced on shipping. (Zannottis has a massive shipping minimum)

They give 20+% off on aftermarket and HD parts all you need is the PN

JP has a store here and is usually higher than most, just wondered.

    Underseat heat shield

My one-lung dial-up home PC for whatever reason did not want to speak with Jenny at that link. Would have tried on the grown-up PC at work, but employer frowns on that. The overall cost was relatively small. Had it been pipes or something really expensive, would have gone the extra mile. Will definitely keep her in mind for next time.
