I don't really see a good place to put a suggestion for the forum, so here goes here.

What's the chances of allowing the unsubscribe option in "Thread tools"? Makes it simpler I think. Just a suggestion but here's a couple screen shots showing what I'm talking about.

When you get an E-mail of the thread there is a unsubscribe area at the bottom of the E-mail. Either highlight it or copy and past and it will unsubscribe you from that thread.

Oh I understand that but why not allow for the tools that are available? They just need to be turned on. That's all. Just a suggestion.

I thought so. I sent him a PM but have heard nothing so thought just in case it might be someone else I would post the suggestion as well.

I must be blind cause I sure don't see anything in "Edit Options" that has anything to do with "unsubscribe". Guess it's time for some new glasses.

Click on your user CP and you will see a list of recent threads you have subscribed to and there you will see unsubscribe.

Oh...there. Okay that's another way but what is so terribly wrong with being able to unsubscribe while you're viewing a thread? That little feature just needs to be turned on. But it's ya'lls forum. I was just making a suggestion.

Oops, totally missed this thread since most messages inside the Soap Box are just rants lol.

So here is the deal with the Unsubscribe showing up in the Thread Tools menu. Originally I had this turned on in our earlier version of the software but because it adds an extra query to check subscriptions everywhere you go on the forum, it was slowing things down. So just like many other forums out there not paying for huge dedicated server bandwidth, it was shut off.

Last year I upgraded the hosting service but left some of these bells and whistles turned off.

Beginning today I will turn this back on. If I see that forum performance starts taking a hit then I'll flip the switch off again.

BTW, I'm moving this message thread over to the Pull up a chair section.
