:) Well, I got the RG fairing off {not as bad as it looked} and there was everything I was hunting for. I unplugged the TBW connector up in the front and removed my old bars. I found that I had more than plenty slack in my wire harness wihout adding extentions. There is a smaller connector located int he bars. It runs through the bars without having to do them individually or plicing{THANK GOD FOR THAT}:)
How I am putting er back together. I have run into another problem. I bought ISO griips with trottle buddy. The trottle will NOT spring back to idle. It is to tight. It might be the rubber holding it or they are defective. I am going to chech that out and more than likly return them. STICKING THROTTLE IS NOT A GOOD THING!!!:gah:

Does it appear that the inside of the grip binds on the bar, as if the bar's diameter is too large? If so this is something I ran into on another bike. I had to grind down the chrome plating on the bar end so that the new grip would be loose when twisted.

    KENFUZED,
YEP, it was the bar and I got my handy-dandy dremel out and ground the end of the bars and it is fine now. and all is done and back together. The thing that got me baffled was, I tried the stock grip and it worked fine with no binding. The new bars feel great, closer to me where I needed them. My arms are not stretched out like they were with the stock bars.
CHUCKTX, I have cruise so I don't have a trottle lock and shoe.
Thanks to all, this part is done. my next parts will be a oil cooler, a trailer hitch for a 09 RG and go all LED lights {front and rear signals} I already have a tail light. The panacea system. I had it on my 06 softail. Also, I have a trailer hitch for sale that fits softails

Well, I test rode my RG and all is good except my cruise will not engage. It turns on with the orage indicater on. It will not turn green. ANY IDEAS, what I did. I rechecked the wires on the handle bars for a pinch and did not find one. I checked the fuse box for a fuse and there is not one. I am searching.

Just like Chuck I haven't dealt with cruise all that much. I would imagine there must be something that senses throttle movement and perhaps that is not correctly functiong following the new grip install.

Hopefully those more familiar with cruise control can chime in.

I found the problem!! When I installed the front brake and switch housing I did not have it tight enough to push the brake switch in. In other words my brake light was on all the time which would not let my cruise engage. It works great now.
    THANKS TO ALL !!!!

I went with the chrome werks sweeper +2 bars and they feel GREAT! The instructions say that you need wire extentions. Not the case here on my 09 glide and I just did a friend of mine who has an 08 road king standard, he got the same bars. We had no problems since mine was the dummy. HA
