Thought I'd give all my bike talk friends an update on my situation. My last CEA (CarcinoEmbryonic Antigen) blood test showed a slight increase so my Oncologist had me to get a PET scan which showed some lesions , about 10-12, in my liver so I'll probably be doing another course of chemo. I go Tuesday to talk with the Nurse Practitioner and get things set up to have a port put back in and get things started. I still feel great and am ridng every chance I get. Went out today for a few miles and it was wonderful. The NP said that the side effects from the chemo that will be used this time will not be as harse as the Oxyloplatin and I'm glad of that. Keep me in your prayers and Thank You in advance.;);)

Thanks guys for the encouragement! That means so very much to me! The day here was beautiful (low 60's and clear) but I didn't ride today. But I did do one of the next best things and that was to squeeze off a few 9mm rounds in the back lot...........:D

Danny, it's a proven fact that healing is as much mental as it is physical. If you can get pleasure doing some fun things a little each day, you are really doing the best you can to help your body recover. Good luck and have fun.

Thank you again guys for the friendship and comraderie. It means so very much. I have a CT scan this morning then Monday morning I get the port put back in and begin Chemo on Tuesday. Chemo will be every two weeks for 6 treatments so if there are o interruptions, I should be finished sometime in March - in time for summer riding and Rolling Thunder. I talked to oneof the guys that I ride with to DC and told him the same thing that I said last year - "If I can throw my leg across the Harley, I going". Two of the chemo meds are different than I had last year. Side effects are not supposed to be as harsh. One of the meds is specific to finding tumors and shutting off the blood supply to them. Enough for now. thanks you again for your prayers and encouragement!!!!!:D:D

Well I'm on the surgery schedule for 7:30 Monday morning so I have tobe there at 5:15 to get checked it. I did all the preadmit stuff today and had a baseline CT that showed about the same as the PET. then on Tuesday morning at 8 I hve my first of 6 hemo treatments. If I can stay on schedule, I should be half through by the end of December and completed by the endof February so I'm going to try my best to behave. You guys have a GREAT and WONDERFUL Thanksgiving Day! We all have so much to be thankful for - especially that we can live in a country that (as of yet) we don't have any rockets flying over our homes or exploding in our yards.
God Bless each one of you and your families!!:)

God bless and stay positive. Where the mind goes the body follows. I know easier said then done. We're all praying for your success.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving to you too.

    Head bowed,hands folded and praying.

First chemo treatment today so it's 1 down and 5 to go. Today went wonderful. No evil side effects. Since it was the first treatment it took about 7 1/2 hours but they should decrease in duration. I have a pump that I wear for 2 days then they remove the pump and needle then relock my port. Anyhow wanted to bring you up todate. Thanks for the prayers - they're being heard, felt and are working!:):)
