I love the look of these but after doing alot of reading on them the results seemed mixed.

I have an 02 Heritage EFI and two ?'s I have is will these things make my bike run way to hot? I will have a PC installed. I read a few post where guys had to put oil coolers on their ride.

Also does any body have the new version of these with the "Power Chamber" and if so how is the performance and how do you like them.

I definatly want dual pipes not two into one and these look perfect so I am trying to decide if I should get them or not.

    Thanks,

    That sounds good to me.

    Thanks.

I did read a post where a Guy put them on a 03 Heritage, same set up as you and was running about 220-225 oil temp. Of course after I thought about it that is what mine runs about now anyway I think.

There were many post saying the older ones sucked but From what you say the Power Chambers must make a differance.

Did putting in the quieter baffles affect the performance at all?

    Thanks

I don't know what effect the quiet baffles made. I rode the bike about 200 miles before I put the quiet baffles in. I couldn't tell any difference by the "seat of Pants".

I had it tuned with the quiet baffles already installed, so the info in the earlier post about the hp and torque was with quiet baffles installed. I have the stock ECM and no other modifications other than the air cleaner, pipes and Power Commander.

I think the sound is great with the quiet baffles. With the original baffles when I started it after installation, my first thought was, "My God, what have I done." It was loud.

As I said earlier, I am happy now with both sound and performance.
    Good luck with your choice.

I have a 97 Heritage that I just installed the V&H big shot staggered and am very impressed with them. There is a noticable increase in power, very easy to install, has a deep throaty sound to them and the looks are awesome. I spend a couple of months checking out the different systle thata re out there and these fit the bill. I guess it comes down to what kind of sound you are looking for.

    Enjoy !

One more Question. Do you guys have Heritage Softail Classics?

If so how does it clear the bag on the right side? I just noticed in the picture they sit above the frame rail and it looks pretty high.

I have a 2002 Heritage Softail Classic. Everything fits fine. I have passenger floorboards and they fit under those. Were an easy install. After I picked it up from the tuner, I rode about 1 1/2 hours with outside termps about 67 degrees. Oil temp at the tank was 200 degrees. I know my fuel is correct and I am no longer running lean as I was with the factory set up. I recommend getting the quiet baffles and put them in before you install the pipes unless you want to be really loud.

    V&H bigshots

I've got the V&H bigshots w/power chamber on my 03 Heritage Classic with the PCIII. No problems mounting them with the bags. However, if you're packing snacks (ie chocolate) in your bags, put it in the left side bag because the proximity of the pipes will tend to heat up the right side bag a bit (yes, that's experience talking). Been very satisfied with the pipes. Look and sound great. I had considered putting in the quiet baffels, but I didn't, and I'm happy. Had the bike dynoed and tuned. Now putting out 77 HP and 80 TQ.

A guy on a Harley newsgroup suggested that I'd like the Big Shot Longs over the staggereds. I saw a Heritage with the Longs and liked the look. Anyway, the Longs extend below the bag. I stayed with the original baffles on my 04 Heritage and get a lot of compliments. I have a Power Commander with an Arlen Ness air kit. I'm very happy with the setup.

Hey when you disconnected the ECU did you have to go through the whole learning process thing for it before it would run again or does that only happen when disconnecting the battery?

    Thanks

Huh?! What does a fixed map ECU have to re-learn? When talking motorcycle EFI think ancient history like '85 or so.

I didn't notice any difference with respect to the ECM being unplugged and plugged back up.
