just wondering the consequences of the slide hole being drilled more than 1/8"
for the cvp kit. it was previously drilled 3.5mm (.138) for a different kit. having some trouble after installing the cvp kit. runs good off idle but holding the throttle anywhere off idle it just sputters and dies. wondering if the slide could be to blame or if i should be looking elsewhere. had no issues prior to install except for poor fuel economy. just wanted to try the cvp kit to see if it would improve. sick of the shim style needle. 00 wide glide tc88, k&n intake, vance and hines longshots, 48 pilot, 195 main. mixture screw 3 turns out.

I have no personal experience with the drilled slide, but all of the GRAYBEARDS on this site will say that it is bad. I believe them too. :D

    LOL Johnny

tbarry, the hole drilled to 3.5mm (larger than 1/8") is much too large and makes it difficult to get a consistent tune.

Greybeard #2 or 3 chiming in. My slide had been drilled to 9/64" by a previous owner. Had to end up getting a new stock slide ($50) from Harley dealer. I did drill the new slide with the bit supplied by the CVP tuners kit. Works great.

well guys, I hate to admit it, nor can I believe I did it. Upon further inspection I realized that I installed the jet nozzle upside down. so far so good since reinstalling it the proper way, even with the slide drilled oversize, but havent had a chance to ride much since the fix. will have to get some more miles on before final judgement.
