Vance and Hines Baggers

Trying to put these Baggers on an '07 Nomad but the mounting tab on the cans don't match up with the bracket on the bike. The cans need to slide another 3/4 - 1" onto the head pipe to line up. I have tried everything short of cutting some length of the head pieps to get the muffler tabs to line up. Anybody know any secrets?? Haven't had a chance to call V&H yet.

Think I answered my own question

I have been reading reviews on the pipes & it sounds like the left side has been a pain for quite a few people, including myself. It looks like some grinding on the head pipe & muffler inlet is a common cure for the problem. Many also said they eventually had to cut some length off the head pipe. I had V&H Cruzers on my other bike, man were they easy to install!!

Finally

Finally got these beasts on, after many hours! Anybody that gets these pipes should be prepared with a Dremel tool. I smoothed out the muffler inlet & the head pipe, but the mounting brackets still didn't match up. I ended up using the cutting wheel on the Dremel & cut off about 3/4" from the left head pipe. After that, they went together no problems. Now that they are finally on, they sound AWESOME. They do have a slight Harley sound, but Metrics idle a little too fast to get that true sound without turning the screw some. But I think they sound good anyways. Nice & deep going through the gears, but very pleasant at cruising speeds. Definitely a great choice for the Nomad.

The Last Bike I Had, Was A O7 Ultra(bought A 08 Last Week). I Put On A Set Of Vance And Hines True Duels Big Shots. Too Loud. Even With The Other Baffles, Still Not Good. The 08 Is Going To Stay The Way I Bought It. Dont Want Too Put A Set Of Glass Packs On A Cadalic.

Loud Pipes

I PLAN ON TRAVELING A LOT THIS SUMMER ON THE NEW BIKE. THE LAST THING I NEED IS A SET OF LOUD PIPES. BEING THE ULTRA IS A ROAD BIKE, I LIKE THE QUIET SOUND THAT IT HAS. CRUISING ON DOWN THE HIGHWAY, RADIO ON, FEET IN THE RIDING PEGS, CRUISE CONTROL ON. THATS RIDING. I HAVE A B.M.W. CONVERT. IM NOT GOING TO PUT A SET OF GLASS PACKS, OR HEADERS ON THE CAR.
