Vance and Hines Big Shots

    I am looking at installing a new set of Big Shot shorts on my 2004 Wide Glide EFI with the expectation of increased power and a more pleasing sound.The bike has a stage 1 kit with Screaming Eagle 2 pipes and a Dyno Jet PC3 .In talking to the local motorcycle tech. I was informed that instead of a power gain I could expect to loose with a flat spot in the low end of the power band. I am looking for feedback so I can make an informed choice,any comments !!!

    Bigshots are very short, you would have very little back pressure. I have the Vance and Hines staggered on my Duece and love them. They also have the "Power chamber" that supposedly helps low end torque.

    I just installed the V&H 2-into-1 Pro Pipes HS. Performance/power improved a lot and other issues (such as pinging) went away. Note that I previously had the V&H Longshots. They looked and sounded good, but that is about it. Can not recommend the Longshots.

    Also contacted the folks at Jerry Branch and Mikuni. Performance wise, they both recommended the V&H 2-into-1 Pro Pipes HS and Thunderheaders, based on their tests.

    Think about it, drag pipes, that's the name, so if you drag race where do you want the power, at the top end when you cross the traps, you want the motor screaming top power,

    Street riding , low end torque low end grunt that's where you want it, to get off the lights and on roll on.
