Vance & Hines 18-19 Harley FLHCS Twin Slash Rounds Mufflers

I learned that because my FLHCS 114 bike already has a high-flow air cleaner I could replace the ultra-quiet stock mufflers with these V & H ones without a re-map or computer upgrade - so I jumped on this!!!!
I thought I was gonna have to put out big bucks to get the bike sounding like a Harley - and while $350.00 ain't free, it is a whole lot less than $1000 or more. So these mufflers are on now and I am very happy with the sound and performance. I was surprised that I get much more of a sharp "bark" with them than the deeper sounds of my Road King's Bassani pipes, but not disappointed. As to performance, I think they have improved both power and efficiency. I do know they'll stay on at over 120MPH. I'm also pretty sure that my computed "miles remaining" function displayed an improved tank range, too. Time will tell, but I'm darn happy with 'em.

I have to say that the new pipes are probably a little bit louder than I think is ideal, but I'll take too noisy over too quiet. Can't say all my neighbors agree, but the closest ones all ride, too, so not a real problem.

they look good!. I think your stock pipes have cats in them causing heat. Anyway they look great.

Can see them now,good looking upgrade. Glad you like the sound. Always preferred loud pipes.

Since owning ultras and having a radio i keep stock pipes so to not compete with radio. Miss the sound of loud pipes. Every now and then tempted to change muffler.

To each there own. Happy with stock to hear music.

Don't need music when riding, as I got songs in my head that I'll sing while riding - and the pipes make sure I don't offend folks with my horrible singing voice. I wouldn't mind getting a sound system to listen to when I'm stopped and taking a break at some of the beautiful, quiet places that I stop at along the way, though, so I may get a system down the road. The tech for that keeps getting better and better.

Took another little run today before the storm came in today, and those new pipes have really unleashed the engine. Leaving a gas stop, I came off a side street onto Hwy 50 and actually burned rubber without trying! Didn't do that before, the throttle response is way improved - but now I have to be careful or I'll be buying new tires before I want to! Friggin' awesome, I thought I'd have to get a new header/pipe set and re-map the EFI to get that kind of performance upgrade. Not now, just need to get a new kickstand, like I have on the King:

That, with the bars I now have, will finish making it look like mine, instead of stock. Gotta have my own look. Harleys should always have personalization, in my way of thinking, if they look like they're straight from the dealer, they ain't "owned" yet.

Red, those are nice pipes and mufflers. I had similar mufflers on my Glide and I liked them a lot. The only drawback with them is that if you want to change the baffle, they are a pain in the ass to remove. My whole Vance and Hines system is now long gone, had to do something different.

I have had a problem with V&H Pro-Pipe baffle before, but since this one is specifically constructed for the M8 engine I am hoping they made it better. Frankly, I may have contributed to that exhaust problem - long story.......short version: just make sure you use enough Loc-Tite.

Love loud pipes. Always have. Love tunes more. Plus loud music and loud pipes might not be good for ears?

When I changed from the RS .557's to the S&S .570's, my bike pulled hard. The .570's really liked the 3.5" muffler. Then I got rid of the 3.5" mufflers and went to a 4" muffler. Without changing the MAP, the .570's didn't have the same feel. I never did reMAP the .570's.
