2001 heritage softail classic vibrating apart. terrible vibration in front floorboards, engine and tank. The light bar that holds the front turn signals and passing lamp has broke in the same spot three times now, left side where the lights conect. the tank vibrates so much the ignitions swith popped out, and it has recently cracked the oil tank. cant even afford to ride here anymore because too expensive to replace the parts. have had front wheel checked and it is good. was told it might be the counter balance bearings going out, but was told that is a major job to replace, and i should just get a rebuilt motor. I am on a tight budget and looking for advice or ideas of what my problem might be..

IF you have a really bad vibration its possible the balancer system is gone, could be a bearing or loose cover on the balancers I've had this happen on a large bore engine shakes like a mother, makes a heck of a racket

Don't ride it until you fix it or you'll be buying new cases, might be there already

Best bang for buck is an HD rebuild of the engine... If you take the balancers out
you end up with a rough running engine anyway,

Best to get someone close by to check it out for you before you lunch a motor.
