They are thick around here. See atleast one a day coming home from work. Sometimes 5 or 6 at a time. Heard on the news that they have counted 240 of them at the Desoto Bend wildlife area this week. (northeast Nebraska) Getting to where we don't pay much attention to them anymore.

Every now n then they either visit or get lost here on Long Island. Seen one last year. Also just as rare will be a stop over by Golden Eagles. Since the gov. outlawed DDT we are enjoying the return of Osprey (very common), Red Tail Hawks (common now also), Wild Turkey, Pheasant, ground hogs, owls (Got a screech owl that visits us every year and sits on our deck at night) we even spotted a family falcons last summer. Doesn't sound like a big deal to you guys but here it is.

Nice pic! Don't see any many eagles around here. We have a lot of crows and hawks and this time of year, thousands and thousands of gulls pecking away in the barren cotton fields. We're a good hundred miles from the ocean.

If I was on Long Island I would get lost to. :D

Glad to hear the wildlife has somewhat returned. That's one problem we don't have.
