I got a free HOG membership with my new bike so I figured what the heck lets check it out. It had been since 1983 when I bought my 1983 FLHS that HOG started, maybe things about HOG have changed and perhaps for the better?

This years HOG rally was in Lincoln, NH at the start of the kangamangus hwy at the Loon Mt resort with all kinds of things to see and do all around, plus its only 80 miles from my house. It was Thursday-Saturday with nifty things to see and do while you were there. I wasn't sure to what extent I would be able to participate if at all because I found out late in the year and my wifes ability to get vacation on the fly is difficult to non existent. I preregistered for one and which was 40$. For 40 you'd get a tee shirt, patch and a pin and access to all the happenings.

As my typical luck would have it my wife was not able to get any time off so Thursday at 8am I headed up to Lincoln to register, get my packet sniff around and perhaps stay the evening. There would be minimum to no sniffing around either. I did get there and register and get my packet but had to get back for 4pm as co workers son was sick and he was gonna be late(covering for me). It wasn't a total wash... its a pretty cool looking tee shirt as tee shirts go. And the ride up to Lincoln is breath taking, you kinda expect a moose or bear to jump out any minute.

Next year its gonna be at Okemo in Ludlow,VT thats only 35 miles from my house, lol. I'll be better prepared as I have the new dates already in hand.

But seriously..if anyone comes to this area please contact me and all riders are welcome. Been a scooter person all my life and enjoy the company of other scooter people or nobody.

The popularity of HD's has severely watered down the quality of scooter people in general in my opinion but there are still good solid scooter folks out there and those are the ones welcomed here. You know who you are.
