Buddy and I left on Saturday morning, rode from Asheville to Deals Gap, rode the Tail of the Dragon, then south on 360 in Tenn to Tellico Plains. Rain hit about then, hung out about 1.5 hours at biker bar, then back over Cherohala Skyway to Stecoha NC. Stayed the night at Iron Horse Motorcycle Lodge ... super place. Today rode south on 28 through Franklin, Highlands, and Cashiers NC. Ended up taking about 9 hours Saturday cause of weather. Over the skyway, hard rain and fog at 5,000 feet. Got our payback today. Beautiful blue sky, what a day... about 6 hour ride home. Gonna do this again and get better weather. Pix are of us at Deals Gap, Iron Horse Lodge, and on Blue Ridge Parkway. Bill's bike is a 1989 FLT, sweet bike. Mine is a 01 softail, real sweet bike! ;)

MC, I had an '85 FLH that looked exactly like that, except mine had a bigger seat and luggage rack. Had that bike for 25 years.....loved it. Nice pics!

Agree, that's why two grey beards were in the cabin, soft beds and warm. Was down close to upper 40s at night.

Been getting into the 50's here at night.

I'm done with tents to, last years trip to DC cured that. We started staying in the air conditioned KOA cabines. They were great plus the showers were good to and the swimming pools after a hot days ride were a real welcome.
