yeah seems odd that another parent is funding the lawsuit,
maybe he doesn't want to toss her to the streets and buys
her story...

If it's true she's 18 and she left, then shes SOL....

The judge ruled in favor of the Parents and the little 18 year snot lost.

That's Dam good & right ,& the family that was helping her the dad is a lawyer & wanted to add his fees in the suite if they won it was 13k he was charging her glad they all lost

Its really sad a family came to this point...

When you read through the whole thing it's plausible that it's a play to get federal funding for college so the parents won't have to pay.

To get the funding you have to be emancipated from your family in order to get the government to pay the bill. If the judge rules this way the family's income doesn't have to be shown on her applications and the feds pay her way through whatever
school she's accepted into

Might be just a way to get out of paying the bill..

Well I just read it in the article that was linked it was one of the suppositions of the author, this gal was an academic athlete, honor role student, the issue was she wasn't going by the "rules" of the house regarding being banned from boyfriends her senior year and a few other issues although it doesn't get full detail

Judge did the right thing, but I'm thinking they are doing it for other reasons, aka, money to cover school expenses.

You can't get student loans, grants and some funding if your parents
make too much money, so, "divorce the kid" and get federal funds..

Doesn't look like a typical trouble maker...

But the f^*king illegal Mexicans could get help

Man that's the hard way to get into collage , she has it all going for a free ride anyway Now I bet they won't even look at her for a scolorship
