well the lone star rally is finally over. and now maybe our tiny island can get back to normal, they estimated 500,000 showed up for this event, and from what i saw,it looked like it to....
chuck and his lovely wife came down on friday, and for those of you that really dont know chuck, he is one very laid back man, and after going to dinner and checking out the rally. my sporty started acting up, so we thought we would just try and limp the bike home, for 8 miles the bike spit and sputtered till it finally died a half mile from the house, now i am not so laid back, here i have these wonderful people hanging out with me, and i am ranting and raving, cussing and throwing rocks at the bike!!!!!
chuck comes up to me with a soft smile, and says dont wont worry about it, i know what it is, and we wll fix it. and he was right as usaul, after pulling the tank and seat and a little crimp on a coil wire lead, i was back in bussinness to ride saturday.
saturday was so funn spending time with chuck and terrie his lovely wife, everything we did was a blast, i got to tell ya, i was pouting when they had to leave. i was just having to much much fun.
sunday rolls around and i get this call from cowboy, wanting to meet up, we had been trying to do so since friday, but we just could not get our paths to cross.we finally met up at lunch time on sunday, he had his son in law with him, and we procided to ride, and what a blast that was. cowboy you make a great OUTLAW...... smirking
i go to park my bike, thinking i will just do a little burnout, as the smoke clears, i look up and cowboy has his bagger roasting the tire, talk about my hereo!!! his son in law, has one of those victory 8 balls, dam is that thing is fast when he cracks the throttle on that thing, it goes and it goes really fast!!!
i am hoping chuck will post a few pics, i know he and his wife took a few pictures.
    before i go.
i just want to say thanks chuck and david for making my weekend one of the best rallys i have ever been to........

Sounds like you all had a great time! Wish I would have been able to join the fun!!! TRG, bet the biggest thing you are sorry about now with your little hiss fit is that Chuck waited until AFTER you threw rocks at your bike before telling you not to worry, he knew the problem..... :roflmao: I just hope that your aim is off with those rocks and didn't hit any of the wives..... your bike....well....ok, so hope you missed it also!! :D

At the very least, need to plan a trip that way....have promised my daughter a day at "the ocean" and I think that she would enjoy Galviston. Course, wife would also!!! Used to be a restruant that I have been to 2 times.....maybe guidos?? that sound right? Sea Food, inside the loop, with about 10-15 ft seawall on the other side...... Would LOVE to go that direction on the bike also...if I bring the fam, would be by car.....myself, be by bike!!!

well i was there, and it wasnt a pretty sight!!!! when his son was towing him the last 1/2 mile there was a point where the ol' tuck n roll came in handy.........we pulled up behind him, with 4 ways on, and watched the show!!:roflmao: it wasnt funny at the time, but now after the fact, and no one was hurt or the bike it is hillarious! picture this.....very dark out, 4 lane highway, bikes zooming by....(pissed none stopped, most honked or yelled)...then this mad man is jumping around, up and down, throwing rocks, beercans, whatever is on the road at his bike:gah: . all this showed up pretty will as i had my highbeams on and my passing lamps. it looked like one of those theater productions with the "spotlight" on the preformer:roflmao:

TRG sorry for the trouble but man I would have been die'n. One thing I am sure of now though, you and I are alike atleast in this regard. When things quit doing what they are supposed to and leave me stuck I get a bit, shall we say, unfit for company. A video of that on Utube would be too great man.

Glad it all worked out and you got in more quallity ride time with some of the folks from here. I hope someday to get to ride with some of ya anyway. Rubber side down and love thy Sporty LOL.

Sounds like you guys had a great time. How far is that from Colorado?

I'm glad you didn't try to push the bike home the rest of the way. I got two cortisone shots in my elbow today. Apparently pushing a Harley gives one both tennis elbow AND golfer's elbow.

    Waiting for the pics...

Way I figure it, guestimate......1k colorado to San Antonio....depends on exactly where tho.....there was little difference from sturgis to san antonio between doing the colorado loop and the original loop down Nebaraska/MO, OK etc......
