I don't know much about the smaller bikes, but from what I've seen over the years, Hondas are the most dependable.

If your a normal 14 yr old you probably weigh around 150lbs you might want to look at 125's, like Art said Honda's are pretty reliable.

Go look at a Yamaha or Kawasaki. I will look at something at least a 250 2 stroke.
I had a 360 enduro. I wanted the 500cc enduro. I was climbing some big hills.

Don't know yer height. you need to talk with a salesman and sit on the bikes and see what fits you. Only you know yer riding style and capabilities of what kind of bike you can handle.

But remember , right now yer at a growing age and you need to git something that you will not ourgrow.

A bike has not been built that "never" breaks down. Proper maintenance will prevent most breakdowns.
Going to a larger bike is a good idea. Larger bikes are built stronger than little bikes. the little bikes are meant to be a starter bike. As you grow larger and more experienced you should move up.
If I was you, I would go talk to a few different dealers. Find one that seems to be more interested in getting you on the right bike than just selling you one.
