    First time Harley owner.
    Just purchased a 1990 FLH police and damned if i can find out what the actual model number is supposed to be . Ontario Canada permits has it listed as " touring " ?
    VIN # is 1HD1DFL12LY508345
    Could it be a FLHTP ???

    In 1990 there was no Road King. The police bikes were the FLHTP and the FXRP. When the Road Kings came along they were designated FLHRP until the change to FLHP. I note that even now, many dealers still call them FLHRP, probably to avoid confusion.
