    Hello everyone,

I have been riding for about 2 years but had to sell my bike about 6 months ago to fix my work truck. I had a 1986 Honda Nighthawk and loved it but it always felt a bit small for my height.

I'm 6'3, 190 lbs and looking to find a good comfortable bike. I'm looking for a cruiser, something I can sit back a little more and enjoy a long ride here and there.

So far I've looked at Harley Dyna Super Glide, a Harley FXSTC, Soft tail low rider.

I'm worried about the weight though compared to the 86 nighthawk which I'm used to and I want to make sure that the bike I get is more comfortable for someone my height.

Any Suggestions on what else to look at?

Just about any of the Softails, big enough, Very smooth suspension, many styles to suite your favorite 'Look'. In the 'official touring' group Road King is great.

I think the road king is a little bigger than what I'm looking for, I dont want a touring bike but I do like a lot of the softails I've been seeing. I live in Boston right now so I don't get to ride as much as I would like but about 6000 miles in the summertime. But I'm moving back to Los Angeles in August and it will be my main source of transportation plus a few longer rides hopefully.

I've found some nice softails in my area that are anywhere from 1998 - 2005 with low miles on them for around 4-7 grand. Thank you for the suggestions. Anything else I should check out?

IF you don't want a touring, then I would go with either the FatBoy or the Heritage.. Both are soft tails..

Heritage Softail Classic..best bang for the buck and I would also recommend a 2000 or newer as they have the newer engine, TC88.

Agree with FLHT, softail covers alot. Gotta decide do you want larger front tire and forks or smaller, or do you care. To my eye Heritage Softail clasic or Softail Deluxe. Fatboy also with larger front end. Standards, Clasic, and Deuce have small front end. All in all, real hard to beat a Heritage in the softail line.

You also need to decide of you want the hassle of a tc engine over the evo , I have one of each & for my money the evo is a better engine just a bit less hp

You got to decide also what kind of riding you really want to do and couple that with what fits your eye and what you can afford. For me in Western NC, I mostly ride two lane roads and Blue Ridge Parkway, so riding is 45 to 60 mph most of the time. Lots of curves if not twisties. Cause of that I love my softail, but if you are heading out for 500 miles, gonna be whole lot more comfortable on a bagger of some sort. Also by yourself or two up. If your wife or girlfriend spends much time on the back, they are gonna like the bigger space. Kinda like whats better, 4WD truck, luxury car, or sports car. Well it all depends....

At 6-3 a Road King or one of the other baggers will fit you better. I had a 09 Heritage, I'm 6-2 1/2, and always flet like I was too tall for the bike. Also rding through the curves in the TN, NC, VA and KY hills, I was forever dragging the floorboards. Plus my wife loves to ride with me which suites me just fine. Less than a year later I moved up to a '10 Limited and it fits us much better. Just gotta be ever mindfulof the extra weight. It sure handles the mountains and curves better. Also when we take off for a weekend or a few days, there's more comfort. Last summer we went to Jacksonville, FL.Left late in the evening so we broke up the trip in two sectins stopping overnight in Columbia, SC. Coming back we did all in one day. Gotta say I was really glad we were on the Limited rather than the Heritage. JM2C

Thank you for all of the suggestions. I've been looking around and I love the Harley Duece and the heritage but the ones in my price range are beat up and have no service records. I've been looking at some Hondas. A couple of shadows. You were all really helpful so I was wondering if anyone had some recommendations in that area.

    Thank you

Eggsactly right! I had 2 Hondas and moved up to a Harley. And, incidently, you DON'T necessarily meet the nicest people on a Honda! Ha-ha-ha!

68 years young is all! Right now I'm spinning old doo-wop 45's on my ancient turntable.
