My Uncle is about to but a 07 XL883L,and has already talked of a "stage 1" upgrade. My Question is this..Should he wait untill AFTER break-in or go for it right out of the gate? ANY and ALL info invited.
    Thanks..Ron

I would do as check said make it part of the deal so the warnranty cover's it , if the dealer installes new part's on a new bike it's covered
& it won't hurt the bike at all in installed now or later

Thanks for the reply..Seems so far the vote is "out of the gate" Due to the covered aspect.

Ron, he can even do the new pipes he'll want , right out of the gate , as long as the stealer do'es it , to keep the warrenty

I guess then the same would be true (warranty) for the re-map and Air upgrades needed to complete the Stage 1 .??
Does this also apply if he uses anything other than "harley" parts ? I.E.... V/H..s&s..Arlen Ness...ect..ect. As long as the stealer does it ??

    Btw..Thanks for the input

on the use of other than hd parts, you will have to take that up with the dealer....some do, others dont. if you have a good dealer that will work with you, that is a good thing, but, some seem to care less, once the deal is sealed.......choose wisely.........

I would wait until after the break in...The dealer will charge twice the amount.. you can do it way cheaper yourself. IMHO..
