Where can I get oem numbers for correct ring sizes?

I have access to an online microfiche but it does not give the rings OEM part number to cross reference to aftermarket rings. I have a 1985 FLHTC 80" that just needed deglazing and was told that a STD set of rings would work. I want Hastings Moly.

if you google hastings motorcycle rings there site says PS400 is replacement ring for your application. Don't take my word as gospel, just giving you a direction

Yeah I'd ask the manufacturer what rings for your application vs
whatever you find on the inner net, although we know everything on the net is true...

I googled Hastings for the correct ring replacements for my '77 shovelhead 1200. Just tell them the year and displacement of your motor if it is still stock.

If your just busting tje glaze off the cylinders. I would suggest a cast set of rings will seal 10 times better than a moly ring. If you still insist on the other ring pack make dam sure you have the proper finish on the bore or it will use oil.there is a ra finish per ring manufacturer be sure you follow it

Given that you were told that a( fresh set of rings were all you needed) for your rebuild, are you reusing the original pistons and were the jugs measured with torque plates ? Shtuff can get ugly under the best of circumstances and hope that is all you need. As BP said follow the specs and recomendations of the mfg. I have a thread (hurt my road king) did everything correctly , then things went poorly. Still do not have an answer .

I used STD Hastings rings on my shovel after honing the jugs. Same pistons. Rebuilt the heads. Good to go . . . :D.

Lot of good tips on Big Boyz site, check out" the advantages of locktite" (that had to suck) and "heads what is the difference"> Bean tries to help with common sense advice, and an approach that is old school. Hope to take a putt to his shop this summer and pick up a shirt in person.
