Where does this go ! Another 883 1993 carb question

Been cleaning carb on the 93 883 Sportster.
Previous owner said they did a rebuild..but it stank of stale fuel, the accelerator pump diaphragm was shot ( they had not changed that) and the float was sticking

So I got it apart and in the ultrasonic tank

OEM Carb 27503-92A
CV 40 right ?

After cleaing in the tank I gave a gentle blow dry with airline and the Needle seat came out.
Also a little O ring popped out.

Now
This is not the O ring for the Accelerator Pump chamber
This is not the O ring on the fuel bowl drain.

Can't see it pictured on any CV40 exploded diagrams either.

Only logical place I can see it fitting is in a chamfered recess/ bevel at the top of the emulsion tube/ bottom of the needle jet seat unit.

Can any one confrm this ? or tell me where it might go if not there.

Spare metal flat washer too. Found in the wash water of the Ultrasonic tank

Frustrating to try to solve your problem through this method. Can't tell real size, or see the carb that it MAY have come off - I say may, as are you sure the tank was empty? If I were there, I'd examine the carb itself and look for what could be missing. If you've another carb around that you can look at, it would help to compare the two. Sorry I can't do more from thousands of miles away, but maybe someone else will see the post get bumped and chime in with better help.

Kehein CV40 off a 93?883 Sportster Original Harley

Yes Tank was definitely empty.
Parts were not listed on parts diagram, and this fact is even pointed out in many articles and on the instructions of the CVP EZ-Just kit.
it was the spring and packing O ring from behind the Air Fuel Micture screw. !

Figured it was another Keihin 40, they've been the stock carb for decades for 883cc-1450cc Harleys. So, does this mean you have a new ride, or just working a friend's -or did I just miss a post awhile ago? Thought your Sporty was newer.

Then saw this for £1500.
1993. 2504 miles ! Still on OEM Tires.

one original owner plus a speculator they had it for 8 months, thinking he’d do it up.
he said he had rebuilt the carb... think he put most components in the bin
that was as it was when I opened it.
Accel pump was rotten and all drilling’s blocked
a dozen or more sessions of 5 mins in ultrasonic cleaning tank sorted it
new diaphragm arrived today

So ya gonna make it a bobber or chopper, or really rat it out in some post-apocalyptic art way - all spikey with a crossbow for handlebars and barbwire-wrapped control cables - or just enjoy as is?

Gonna be very boring I am afraid... minimal cost .
I have already gone overboard wiping ACF50 over the rusty wheels with ScotchBrite pads and wiping the flaky corrosion and lifted chrome off the fork brace
Bought to ride most days and live outside. If I spend loads on it, make it look good then I won’t want to leave it outside...

Leaving exactly as it is. May make up my own studs and frame in the lathe to take my ghost bracketc with ammo boxes on. But no fancy work in it.

I am supposed to be going to England at the end of next month, for cams, Head, clutch 1275 kit and dyno tune on my 04 XL, so no money for new tyres for the 93 next month either.
Just have to ride really careful !

Yep, be very mindful of those tyres - can't say I'd test my luck on 26 year old bike tires...maybe on a pedal bike, but only maybe! Be safe and good luck.

Can’t be worse than the 15 year old tyres I just took off my 04 Sportster
They were originals too
not that bad.

and only replaced those as they were worn, tread at less that minimum after trip to France.

These look like new tread wise. Yes a bit hard I guess.

Went out on her this morning
30 miles around the lanes. On our island the speed limit is 40mph, but barely got above 35 today with traffic.
can honestly say they are pretty OK

Scuffed the rear one up a bit by spinning up the back wheel on tarmac, burnout style..but only for a second or so.
If I was off to the mainland with it, doing 60-80 mph on busy motorways, yes I’d fit new tyres
the odd small sidewall crack but nothing worrying

I don’t ride fast,

These will do until I decide to do something to the rusty rims, or I get a flat.
