    Would not start out to ride in that kinda weather & at those speeds , I have got cought in a snow storm once or twice On a bike & the worst was crossing new mexico in Oct & got cought & had to ride about 80 to 100 miles to the nearest town of roswell NM ,But I darn sure wast'nt going as fast as those guys where

    It was a 440Km(274 miles) ride at -30*C(-22*F). To be traveling at those speeds 40-45MPH they must have had studded tires.
    I've done my share of foul weather riding but nothing compared to what that ride was. 0*C(32*F) is about my limit but on dry roads,when the roads get ice covered I chicken out.
    Hell of a way to sharpen up your defensive riding skills:roflmao:

    Is it even good for the bike to be riding in them temps? The bike has no chance to warm up? Talk about having to rejet the carb!!

    Air cooled engines run better in cool air,they will warm up and no fear of overheating:rolleyes:;)...wouldn't want to park them outside in those temps though,the oil would get like cold molasses pretty quick.

    I read a mag last years on two guys who rode in weather like this but worest one rode a shovle & the other was on a pad head they said it got so cold they had to make a small fire under both bikes to warm up the oil had some pics of them doing it , look's like they dug a small hole & put in some kindeling & made it work
