In the news today was a story of a drunken, middle aged, tattooed woman punching and rubbing her booty on a painting valued at 30 million bucks. After looking at a picture of the painting I might have done the same thing!

Maybe - not that I'm co-signing what she did - but who in their right mind would value a piece of trash like that at 30 mil? And then the story went on to say that the woman did $10,000 damage to the painting. She didn't break through the canvass - How is that possible? I wish I knew how to get a picture of the painting over here on the thread, and you could see how awful it is. My 4th grade art class students do better work than that.

I agree, I don't condone what she did. Just joking!

Couldn't help it as when I turned my head that was the first thing that came to my mine. Don't see how that could be worth more than the material to paint it. My grand kids can paint better than that. :D

NEWSER) – A Denver woman, apparently incredibly drunk and not a fan of modern art, has been arrested for attacking a $30 million painting at a Denver museum. Witnesses said Carmen Tisch pulled her pants down, punched Clyfford Still's 1957-J-No. 2 repeatedly and then slid her bare butt down the painting, apparently trying to urinate on it. Instead, she collapsed in a heap and urinated on herself, according to observers. The 36-year-old woman has been charged with criminal mischief.

"It doesn't appear she urinated on the painting or that the urine damaged it, so she's not being charged with that," a spokeswoman for the local district attorney's office tells the Denver Post. "You have to wonder where her friends are." Officials at the Clyfford Still Museum say the attack caused close to $10,000 in damage to the painting, although the owner of a Denver art gallery believes the contact with Tisch's tush will wipe a lot more off its value. "It does damage the piece, even people just knowing that happened," he says.

JMO people damaging others property because they are drunken
a-holes all fall under the same category - POS.

Now on to the funny part, drunk and drops trow, then pisses on herself
gets in the news and goes to jail... Darwin...

Now take a good look at her, she has prior rap sheet, looks alot like Occumoron to me.
frankly the painting is much better looking...

The "painting" reminded me of a cow hide after the cow paid a visit to a Chicago slaughterhouse. The interesting thing is that it provokes commentary, however negative or derisive. But not $30 million worth. I wonder if anyone actually paid that for that piece of "art". It must be what it is insured for. The other day, some guy paid $1 million for a US penny minted in the 1770's. Come on, it's still a penny, folks. A penny saved is a penny earned! Lord, what has happened to us since then!

Now, on to Tisch's tush. I think that she may have inadvertantly INCREASED the value of the painting. It will be forever remembered in the annals of art history as the Bloody Cowhide Tisch's Tush Touched.

Does anyone else find it unusual that a drunken (and probably a meth addict) woman with was in the art museum to begin with, or that security wasn't watching her closely enough that they were able to stop her before it got that far?

    Bizarre.

Well, it's an abstract art museum, dedicated to the art of one man Clyfford Still, reportedly one of the US top abstract artists who died in 1980, his wife donated the paintings and died in 2004 so they got all of his art, rare, well respected, I'm' not into the abstract thing but apparently he's the number 2 guy in the US or was.

Look at her, doesn't she look abstract, artsy LOL

Actually she looks like an occutard to me..

    And she has a record.
Tisch was still being held in the Denver County Jail Wednesday on $20,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court Friday morning.
Court records show that Tisch was arrested a year ago on an armed robbery charge in Glendale. She was freed on $50,000 bond, then the charge was dropped on Dec. 16.
She pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol in Lakewood in 2008 and received fines, 48 hours of a community service, a 30-day suspended jail sentence and 18 months probation, records show.

Yes, number 2 on the list under Jackson Pollock, another well respected and revered expressionist artist who made his fortune & fame dripping & spattering cans of paint on large supports laid out on the floor.

In case anybody hasn't guessed by now, I have a strong aversion to modern art. Why? Because it has "evolved" to other "art" forms whose materials include sh*t, pi*s, puke, crusty toilets & urinals, and skinned human dead bodies encased in plastic. (Somebody loved those people once.) Anything goes in the world of art - the joker's wild and has gone completely insane.

I suppose I sound like those guys on TV in the 50s who used to smash those old R&B and R&R 78 records (the 45s were unbreakable!) while denouncing the (then) new music in rather colorful language! Those artists were breaking new ground as well. But I detect sinister overtones in much of today's art. It is often dark, ugly, disgusting, confrontational and one dimensional - it exists only to shock and offend peoples sensibilities. I sometimes wonder where it is all leading to . . . .

And Mz. Tisch . . . well, I think she is a lost soul in need of redemption.
