Yup, I lived up to my nickname once again. After preparing all week for a music gig to benefit paralyzed vets, I loaded up my truck and headed out to Ronoake Rapids, 45 miles north. The venue is a 1200 seat theatre, beautiful place and you can't miss it, right? Wrong!

It was raining hard and I drove past it for another 10 miles or so and realized I must have missed it. Went back and still couldn't find it. Stopped and got half assed directions. Drove another 5 miles farther south and saw the place. I was told to take the interstate so I did and had to drive past it and back an extra 5 miles or so.

Finally found the access road and made it to the gig with only minutes to spare. I had been driving for 2 1/2 hours. Boys, you would not have wanted to be with me those last few miles in the truck!

It was a good gig, lots of vets and their families showed up and we all had a great time. The headliner for the main show was Aaron Tippin. He came up to me and said, "Ah, got some competition." We shook hands. I said, "You must be Aaron."

Wrong Way Josh strikes again!

P.S. I made it home no problem.

From what I read on the program, Aaron Tippin had the hit song "You've Got To Stand For Something". He tours around the country and plays about 100 shows a year and is a celebrity spokesperson for Paralyzed Veterans of America.

Only if you don't go into the settings and tell it how you want to get there, quickest route, fastest time, highway or no highway, toll roads or no toll roads...

Yah gotta read the manual... LOL

Here ya go JB $60 for a GPS with lifetime maps.

    CompUSA.com | Nuvi 1100LM RB | Garmin nĂ¼vi 1100LM Auto GPS

You'll never get lost in Hobgob again...

The only thing on my handlebars is a clutch lever and a 4" mirror. When I change over to jockey shift, the only thing left will be the mirror. I like the clean, bare bones look wherever possible. That means no GPS. No radio. No cigarette lighter. No nothin'.:D

Not knockin yer way to ride.

    I've had those days.
Not givin up no radio, no GPS, no heated grips for winter, back rest.
No fairing. No tourpac, no sadle bags.
    Don't mind cleaning my bike.
And I love my foot shift and easy pull clutch.
You can basically say I'm spoiled and not returning to the old days.
Lets ride for a couple days on the back roads and hiways.

I ride a cadillac and love the ride.
    Can tote whatever I want.
And I know the OL is plenty comfortable.:gah:

I like the clean lines like Josh, but can't argue, when you are gonna spend all day in the saddle, a caddy is nice. And when my wife goes, can't go that long at a time, passenger pillion is pretty small on a softail.

At least I know my way around here! LOL. There are still a few roads I haven't discovered yet. Maybe today after I cut the grass. Got a new battery for the riding mower.

I see lots of bagger riders here with all the modern accoutrements. They look at my bike with nostalgia, but smile and say they'll never go back to the old ways, either!
