Okay, I gave up on the Sporty front wheel & brake - and am now looking for an old Hallcraft "half mini" front drum brake. I only need it for holding the bike from rolling at stops, and will enable me to put at least one foot down if I miss neutral and have to keep my foot on the clutch. I am going to go with a slap shift (suicide clutch) set up, and the brake will come in very helpful.

My bike is very light, only 425 lbs. with gas in the tank. I believe the small brake will work very well for the purpose I have in mind for it.

The Hallcraft half mini has the appearance of one of the very old drum brakes seen on the old Harley flatheads, only a bit smaller, and of course it's chromed.

What about a single disk brake on the front or has that been discussed before?

Yup, it has. I do not want any disc brake up front for several reasons. Drum brake and as small as possible. I only need it when I'm coming to a stop and to hold the bike from rolling at lights if on a hill.

I've adjusted very well using only a rear brake. The front will assist me when I switch to slap shifting . . .
