I only need one, preferably used, cadmium or chrome, OEM type with a 3/16" allen head. Broke one off in the rocker box the other day changing the seals.

A new set with nuts is over $42. Trying to avoid that as I need only one.

I'll never sell it unless I know for certain my riding days are over. If I have to buy a new set, I'll change all of them so they match.:)

Couldn't get your link to come up. Looking for the end cap that goes on the ignition side of the rocker box - just a little 1/2"x20 cap ( x 3/8" deep) that has a 3/16" allen head. Mine are cadmium plated, I think, and are magnetic, so I think they are made of steel. I did manage to drill & back out the broken piece out of the rocker box. I hate being down now because it's really great riding weather. Next week it will be 25 to 30 degrees colder - Indian Summer is about over . . .

Like I said earlier, I can get a new (chrome) set from Colony or a few other sources, but I have to buy 4 of them plus the 4 nuts that go on the primary side for around $45 or more. I'd be willing to pay $10 + shipping for just one used end cap in good condition.

I'm hoping SOMEbody has to have some of these collecting dust in some dark corner of their shop.

While still the owner of a 1983 FL I have none extra. Any indy's near you? I imagine they might be your best bet. Many MOCO dealerships no longer mess with older shovels.

And "Ha ha Josh needs a pair nutz" Couldn't help it.:D

Very funny . . . I've tried everybody I know and found one guy who might have some shovel end plugs. I'll find out by Tuesday. If not, then I'll have to get a new set.
While I'm at it, I may as well fix the leak at the cam seal. I am going to take the cam out of the motor and have it inspected by Tattoo. I have a new bushing and seal. Tattoo has an Andrews cam he will give me if I need to replace mine. Might as well do this stuff now while the bike is down . . .

Next will be the valve job . . .

Still haven't figued out how to post pics with this newer laptop - I may never, I guess. These end plugs go into the side of the rocker boxes on the ignition side; there's 4 of 'em, 2 per rocker box. The original ones have allen heads, like mine.

Probably the only way I'll find used ones is if somebody switched theirs out for aftermarket ones. BTW, I think the aftermarket ones are fugly. They stick out too far and are way too big. JMO.

Regarding the identical parts being offered by V-TWIN MANUFACTURING (aka Taiwan Ted) it is up to you whether you want to buy their knockoffs or not. Personally I would spend the extra money for originals just on principle alone. I may be biased though since my company is one of the many that have products which were knocked off by this guy reproducing products out of Asia.

Again it's up to you and I don't fault anyone for buying their parts, just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in.

If I could find originals, I would use them, but so far I can't find any - but I'm still looking. By originals I mean USED or NOS. I have bought American where possible but that isn't always an option. If I have to buy a set of these parts I will buy from Colony which, as far as I know, is an American company.
