Reading about Abby's/Hot01's cross-country ride (and sharing a brief time with her here during the oil change) inspired me to re-read the book "Zen & the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" by Robert Pirsig. If you have not read it, it is a great book for anyone that rides - or anyone else, for that matter (though they will likely want to ride if they have the salt). If you aren't hooked after the first chapter, I'd be surprised. It is available in libraries and bookstores everywhere. Check it out, especially if circumstances (weather, medical, divorce takes your ride, etc) keep you away from the saddle.

If you are new and not familiar with Hot01's journey, check out her posts here and her blog (linked from her posts here).

And for Abby: no, I am not insinuating you are now or have ever been crazy! :) (read the book and you'll know why I say that). Only inspired and a good bit jealous that I can't be doing the same at this point in my life......but someday when the kids are grown. Someday........

    :roflmao:

The book has come up several times over the course of planning for and taking the trip. I say it's like that but without the psych issues - or maybe different ones. :)
